Még szombaton érte támadás a stratégiai fontosságú Csongar-hidat. A hídon megy keresztül a Herszon és a Krím közötti logisztikai összeköttetés jelentős része. Az objektum fontos szerepet játszik a Krím és Ukrajna szárazföldi területeinek összeköttetésében. Az ISW (Institute for the Study of War) jelentése szerint a támadás a megváltozott moszkvai kommunikációs stratégiát is jelezheti.
Második alkalommal érte találat a Krím és Herszon között vezető, stratégiai fontosságú Csongar-hidat. A mostani támadásokról egyelőre keveset tudni, mivel a közösségi médiába egyelőre csak elszórtan kerültek fel információk, a hivatalos médiumok pedig nem számolnak be az eseményekről. Az ISW szerint ez már a moszkvai megváltozott stratégiának köszönhető, mivel szerinte az orosz vezetés korlátozta, hogy milyen tartalmakat oszthatnak meg az orosz katonai bloggerek.
A közösségi médiában inkább Vlagyimir Szaldo Herszon Oroszország által kinevezett kormányzója kap figyelmet, állítása szerint 12 Storm Shadow rakétát lőtt le az orosz légvédelem. Ennek ellenére a műholdképeken látható, hogy a híd megsérült, illetve az útvonalon torlódásokról érkeztek jelentések. Ez jelezheti, hogy nem zavartalan a forgalom a Csongar-szoros felett.
Csongar település Herszon megye déli, oroszok ellenőrizte részén van. Itt halad át a Krímet és Mariupolt összekötő legfontosabb orosz utánpótlási útvonal. A híd egy keskeny szoroson vezet keresztül, kiemelkedően sérülékeny pontja az összeköttetéseknek.
