A vádirat szerint a floridai Saratosában élő férfi, a 44 éves Gyenyisz Posztavoj Oroszország 2022-es ukrajnai támadását követően olyan katonai célú mikroelektronikai alkatrészeket szerzett be és exportált illegálisan Oroszországba, amelyeket drónokban lehet felhasználni – derült ki a tárca honlapján közzétett tájékoztatásból. A közleményben Matthew Graves amerikai ügyész hangoztatta:
„A vádirat szerint a vádlott illegálisan olyan kettős felhasználású technológiát exportált Oroszországba, amely megerősítheti képességeit az Ukrajna elleni, provokálatlan háború folytatásához”.
A washingtoni orosz nagykövetség a Telegram üzenetküldő alkalmazáson közölte, hogy tud Posztovoj őrizetbe vételéről, de „nem kapott hivatalos értesítést a letartóztatásról a helyi bűnüldöző szervektől”. Az igazságügyi tárca azt írta, Posztovoj oroszországi és hongkongi cégek hálózatán keresztül tevékenykedett, hogy alkatrészeket vásároljon amerikai forgalmazóktól, és azokat Oroszországba szállítsa, közvetítő célállomásokat használva, elrejtendő a szállítmányok végső rendeltetési helyét.
