Egy 18 éves fiút vádolnak annak a 26 éves Tristan Sherrynek a meggyilkolásával, aki szenteste lövöldözni kezdett egy dublini étteremben. A tinédzseren kívül egy 26 éves férfit is gyanúsítanak, őt a gyújtogató testi sértésével vádolják.
Tristan Sherry szenteste betért egy Dublin külvárosában található étterembe, ahol lövöldözni kezdett egy embercsoportra. Az egyik 48 éves férfit a nyakánál talált el, így az bele is halt sérüléseibe – nyomozást indítottak az ügyben – írja a The Guardian.
A vendégek egy csoportja ezt követően a földre teperte Sherryt, és állítása szerint bántalmazták is, amibe aztán belehalt.
Meggyilkolásával a 18 éves David Amah-t és a 26 éves Wayne Deegant vádolják, akiket január 9-ig előzetes letartóztatásba helyeztek.
Korábban egy 22 éves férfit vádoltak a gyilkossággal – Michael Andrecutot –, aki január 16-án áll bíróság elé.

A vásárlók és a turisták a Black Friday reggelén tértek vissza az ír fővárosba, az éjjel kifosztott boltokat rendőrök őrizték. Válságos az állapota egy 5 éves megkéselt kislánynak.
Dublin belvárosában péntek este erős rendőri jelenlét mellett helyreállt a nyugalom az utcákon. A rendőrség 34 embert letartóztatott az előző esti zavargások után, amelyeket öt ember, köztük három kisgyermek utcai megkéselése váltott ki.
A rendőrség ugyanakkor készenlétben állt esetleges további erőszakos cselekmények miatt, miután a zavargók csütörtök éjjel kirakatokat törtek be, rendőrautókat, buszokat és egy villamost gyújtottak fel, majd összecsaptak a rendőrökkel az O’Connell Street főutcáján és környékén.
A vásárlók és turisták a Black Friday reggelén visszatértek, a kifosztott üzleteket rendőrök őrizték, a kiégett járműveket elszállították. A rendőrség péntek este néhány embert elzavart az utcáról, és még néhány embert letartóztatott, de a város nyugodt maradt.
A tömeg, köztük sok szélsőjobboldali, azután vonult az utcákra és skandált bevándorlásellenes jelszavakat, hogy elterjedt a hír, hogy a késes támadó migráns volt (a negyvenes éveiben járó férfiról annyit lehet tudni, hogy külföldi származású, de ír állampolgár, aki egy hajléktalanszállón lakott).
A hatóságok szerint a zavargásoknak semmi köze a késes támadáshoz, a „szélsőjobboldali huligáncsoport csak kihasználta a helyzetet.” A tettes motivációiról egyelőre semmit nem lehet tudni, a rendőrség semmilyen indítékot nem zárt ki, a terrorizmust sem.
Az egyik megkéselt áldozat, egy 5 éves kislány sürgősségi ellátást kapott, de az állapota továbbra is válságos.

Leo Varadkar úgy fogalmazott, olyan bűnözők okozták a késes támadás utáni felfordulást, akik tele vannak gyűlölettel és szeretnek fájdalmat okozni másoknak.
34 embert vett őrizetbe az ír rendőrség a csütörtök esti dublini zavargások után. Az ír fővárosban legalább százan randalíroztak fémrudakkal felfegyverkezve, arcukat eltakarva azután, hogy egy késes támadó öt embert megsebesített.
A randalírozók járműveket gyújtottak fel, üzleteket raboltak ki és összecsaptak a rendőrökkel. Leo Varadkar ír miniszterelnök úgy reagált, hogy a randalírozók szégyent hoztak Dublinra, Írországra, a családjukra és önmagukra.
„Ezek a bűnözők nem azért tették, amit tettek, mert szeretik Írországot, vagy mert meg akarták védeni az íreket. Azért tették ezt, mert tele vannak gyűlölettel. Szeretik az erőszakot, szeretik a káoszt, és szeretnek fájdalmat okozni másoknak”-mondta.
Az egy iskola közelében elkövetett késes támadásban egy tanár és három gyerek is megsérült. A rendőrség tájékoztatása szerint egy ötéves kislány „nagyon súlyos állapotban van”. A rendőrség csak annyit közölt, hogy a támadó az ötvenes éveiben jár, és a nyomozás első megállapításai alapján kizárták a terrorista indítékot.
