Tragédia törtét Texasban egy tandem ejtőernyős ugrás során; az ejtőernyő nem nyílt ki, a férfi oktató és női ügyfél földbe csapódott, súlyos sérülésekkel szállították őket kórházba. Vasárnap délután a helyi seriff megerősítette, az oktató belehalt sérüléseibe – számolt be a Fox5 Atlanta.

augusztusban kezdte volna a tanulmányait az Észak-Georgia Egyetemen, az ugrással ezt akarta megünnepelni.A fiatal nő vasárnap érkezett nagymamájával a Skydive Atlanta nevű központba, a rokonság néhány órával később csatlakozott, hogy láthassák a tandemugrást.
Azonban miután kiugrottak a gépből a 35 éves instruktorral az ernyő nem nyílt ki megfelelően és kontrolálatlanul forgni kezdtek a levegőben. A biztonsági ernyőt pedig már túl alacsonyan nyitották ki, így az sem tudta megmenteni az életüket.
A helyi rendőrség szerint a baleset az instruktor hibájából következett be.
