A romániai elnökválasztás érvénytelenítése ellen rendezett tömegdemonstrációt és felvonulást vasárnap a bukaresti kormány és elnöki hivatal előtt a többi párt által szélsőségesnek tartott Románok Egyesüléséért Szövetség (AUR).
George Simion AUR-elnök a „demokrácia és a szabadság védelmében rendezett legnagyobb tüntetésre” hívta szimpatizánsait szerte az országból és a román diaszpórából. A kommunista diktatúra 1989-es megdöntésének történelmi örökségét jelképező Egyetem térről a tömeg a kormány székháza elé vonult, megbénítva a román főváros egyik legnagyobb útkereszteződésének járműforgalmát.
A zászlókat lengető tüntetők „Szabadság”, „Iohannis diktátor”, „Nem engedünk, voksunkat megvédjük”, „Vissza a második fordulót” rigmusokat skandáltak és az ország különböző megyéinek nevét jelző, illetve kormányellenes szövegű táblákat emeltek a magasba.
A kormány előtti Victoriei-teret és néhány oda vezető utcát helyi idő szerint 16 órakor tüntetők lepték el, számukat a tömeget hangosbemondón irányító szervezők egyike százezerre becsülte.
A helyszínről tudósító hírtelevízióknak nyilatkozva George Simion államcsínynek nevezte az elnökválasztás megismétlését elrendelő alkotmánybírósági határozatot, és közölte, hogy nem ismeri el Klaus Iohannis államfő mandátumának meghosszabbítását. Az AUR a félbeszakított választások folytatását követeli az érvénytelenített első fordulóban eredetileg győztesnek nyilvánított Calin Georgescu független jelölt és a második helyre került Elena Lasconi, az ellenzéki Mentsétek Meg Romániát Szövetség (USR) elnöke részvételével.
A tömeg az elnöki hivatal elé vonult, ahol Klaus Iohannis államfő távozását követelték.
Pénteken Georgescu is tüntetést tartott, ugyancsak a „sárba tiport népakarat és Iohannis-diktatúra megdöntése” érdekében mozgósítva támogatóit. Míg a pénteki, engedély nélküli Georgescu-tüntetés néhány résztvevője ellen bűnvádi eljárás indult, miután megdobáltak két tévéstábot, illetve kárt tettek közvetítőkocsijukban, az AUR tiltakozásáról vasárnap délutánig nem érkezett jelentés komolyabb incidensről.
Romániában az alkotmánybíróság december 6-án érvénytelenítette az elnökválasztás 2024. november 24-én lebonyolított első fordulóját, és elrendelte a teljes választási folyamat megismétlését, miután a Legfelsőbb Védelmi Tanács (CSAT) megállapította, hogy a legtöbb szavazatot összesítő, az egykori antiszemita és magyarellenes Vasgárdával nyíltan szimpatizáló Calin Georgescu független jelölt kizárólag közösségi platformokon folytatott, törvénytelenül finanszírozott kampányát nemzetbiztonsági kockázatot jelentő külföldi beavatkozás segítette.

Lengyelországban azonosítottak egy, az orosz katonai hírszerzés (GRU) által irányított csoportot, amelynek célja a májusi lengyel elnökválasztás befolyásolása álhírek terjesztése révén – közölte pénteken Krzysztof Gawkowski kormányfőhelyettes, digitalizációügyi miniszter a TVN24 lengyel kereskedelmi hírtelevízióban.
A csoport összetételére vonatkozó műsorvezetői kérdésére a politikus elmondta: orosz csoportról van szó, amely különféle személyeket toborozhat. Hozzátette: Oroszország a kibertérben „már nem hideg-, hanem melegháborút folytat” Lengyelországgal szemben, amely – mint mondta – e tekintetben a leginkább támadott európai uniós tagállam lett.
A kormányfőhelyettes közölte: a lengyel elnökválasztás miatt új egységeket hoztak létre, amelyek együttműködnek a titkosszolgálattal, és a dezinformáció elleni harccal foglalkoznak.
Bejelentette: a kormány még januárban bemutatja a választás védelmét célzó programot.

A tárca szerint a 27 éves férfi Oklahoma államban élt.
„A vád szerint az igazságügyi minisztérium meghiúsította a vádlott azon tervét, hogy félautomata fegyvereket szerezzen be és az Iszlám Állam terrorszervezet nevében erőszakos támadást kövessen el az Egyesült Államok területén a választások napján” – tudatta Merrick Garland igazságügyi miniszter.
„Továbbra is harcolni fogunk az Iszlám Állam és támogatói által Amerika nemzetbiztonságára jelentett folyamatos fenyegetés ellen, és azonosítani, kivizsgálni és felelősségre fogjuk vonni azokat, akik az amerikai nép terrorizálására törekszenek” – szögezte le a miniszter.
Az összeesküvés részeként a vádlott lépéseket tett családja vagyonának felszámolására, családtagjainak tengerentúlra való áttelepítésére, gépkarabélyok és lőszerek beszerzésére – közölte a minisztérium.
A tájékoztatás szerint a férfit és egy fiatalkorút hétfőn vették őrizetbe, azt követően, hogy megvásároltak két gépkarabélyt, 10 tárat és ötszáz darab lőszert a Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda (FBI) fedésben dolgozó ügynökeitől.
A férfit felelősségre vonják azért, mert anyagi támogatást és erőforrásokat próbált nyújtani egy tiltólistán szereplő külföldi terrorista szervezetnek. Ha bűnösnek találják, akár 20 év börtönbüntetésre is számíthat. Azzal is megvádolták, hogy lőfegyvert fogadott el bűncselekmény vagy terrorista bűncselekmény elkövetéséhez, amiért további legfeljebb 15 év börtönbüntetés járhat, ha elítélik.

Elfoglaltak több francia egyetemet, köztük a párizsi Sorbonne-t olyan diákok, akik tiltakoztak a francia elnökválasztás első fordulójának eredménye ellen, és a szociális és környezetvédelmi problémákra kívánják ráirányítani a figyelmet. A Sorbonne vezetősége péntekre virradó éjjel kiürítette az épületet, és jelezte, hogy „a leghatározottabban elítélni a törvénytelen blokádot”. Április 14-ről 15-re virradó éjjel a Sorbonne létesítményét április 13. óta elfoglaló diákok elhagyták a helyszínt – olvasható a közleményben.
Az egyetem „a leghatározottabban elítéli a törvénytelen blokádot, amely elfogadhatatlan erőszakhoz és jelentős rongálásokhoz vezetett: ablakokat törtek be, ajtókat rongáltak meg, csempéket törtek össze, falakat bontottak le, tűzvédelmi berendezéseket rongáltak meg, pedagógiai eszközöket tettek tönkre, graffitik tömegét festették fel az épületre, műemlékvédelmi falakra is”. A Sorbonne a rongálások miatt jelenleg zárva tart, s a közlemény szerint a vezetőség a többi egyetemmel együtt mindent megtesz, hogy az intézmény mielőbb a megszokott módon működhessen.
Szerda óta Párizsban, Nancy-ban és Reimsben is tiltakoztak baloldali diákok, akik szerint az április 24-i második fordulóba jutott két jelölt, Emmanuel Macron jelenlegi elnök és Marine Le Pen, a jobboldali szuverenista Nemzeti Tömörülés államfőjelöltje nem képviseli kellőképpen a szociális és a környezetvédelmi kérdéseket. A tüntetők közül többen a francia televíziókban elmondták, hogy az első fordulóban harmadik helyen végzett radikális baloldali Jean-Luc Mélenchonra vagy más baloldali, a kommunista vagy a Zöld-párti jelöltre voksoltak.
Csütörtökön a Sorbonne-on több incidens is történt, ezt követően a diákok egy része kora este elhagyta az épületet, míg a radikálisabb diákok elfoglalták az épületet. Nem messze a Sorbonne-tól, a nagy presztízsű Sciences Po politikatudományi egyetemen mintegy 150 diák állta el az épület bejáratát. Ők egyértelműen „a szélsőjobboldal” ellen tüntettek. Szombatra országszerte tucatnyi hasonló jellegű tiltakozást szerveznek a „szélsőjobboldal és annak gondolatai ellen, Marine Le Pen nem mehet az Elysée-palotába” jelszóval.
