Felborult egy hajó Nigéria északi részén, legalább 40-en eltűntek, tíz embert kimentettek a vízből – közölték a helyi hatóságok kedden.



A környékbeli heti vásárra tartó hajó hétfőn, mintegy 50 emberrel a fedélzetén borult fel a Kebbi és Niger államot összekötő folyón az erős hullámok miatt.






A helyi hatóságok és segélyszervezetek azonnali mentőakciót szerveztek, hogy megtalálják az eltűnt utasokat – mondta Salihu Garba, a helyi katasztrófavédelem vezetője.



A vízi járművek hibás működése, a túlzsúfoltság vagy a rossz időjárás miatt gyakran fordulnak elő hasonló hajóbalesetek az nyugat-afrikai országban.



Bola Tinubu nigériai elnök még szeptemberben rendelt el vizsgálatot a balesetek okainak felderítésére és a további tragédiák elkerülésére, valamint indítványozta a hajózási törvények felülvizsgálatát.

Emberek nélküli gumicsónakot sodort partra a tenger Izraelben vasárnap reggel, benne három szomáliai állampolgár irataival – jelentette a helyi média vasárnap.






Az izraeli rendőrség a tengerben és a tengerparton kutat a gumicsónak utasai után, de attól tartanak, hogy vízbe fulladtak. Mérete alapján sokan utazhattak a járművön, az izraeli hatóságok arra számítanak, hogy holttesteket fog partra vetni a víz, de az is lehet, hogy a migránsok elhagyták a hajót és partra úsztak.



A Tel-Avivtól északra, Netanja partjainál megtalált gumicsónakban vizespalackok, sütemények és energiaszeletek voltak, valamint személyes tárgyak, szomáliai személyi igazolványok és útlevelek. Ha a vízbe vesztek, akkor a tengeri áramlatok miatt nem világos, hol veti partra testüket a víz – közölték a hatóságok.



Az izraeli rendőrség drónokkal és csónakokkal vizsgálja át a netanjai partszakaszt túlélők után kutatva, és nyomozók dolgoznak az iratok és a személyes tárgyak alapján az eltűntek azonosításán.
