Az oroszországi Szaratovi területen található Engelsz városában harmadik napja lángol egy olajraktár, miután péntekre virradó éjjel az ukrán védelmi erők csapást mértek a létesítményre – írja az Astra.
A jelentések szerint a tűz azóta is megállás nélkül tombol a „Krisztal” olajbázison, amely az orosz hadászati légierő egyik fontos központja. A becsapódás helyszínéről felszálló fekete füst a város több pontjáról is jól látható. Eközben az orosz hatóságok próbálják megnyugtatni Engelsz lakosait, hogy a tűz miatt nem történt légszennyezés.
Az ukrán fegyveres erők vezérkara január 6-án jelentette be, hogy megelőző csapásokat hajtottak végre két kulcsfontosságú orosz katonai repülőtér – Engelsz és Gyagilevo – ellen. Engelszben megerősítést nyert, hogy legalább három üzemanyag- és kenőanyag-tartályt ért találat. Gyagilevóban az ukrán erők szintén sikeres csapást mértek a repülőtérre, ahol a célterület környékén tűz ütött ki.
