Találat érte a Dél-Libanonban állomásozó ENSZ-békefenntartó erő (UNIFIL) főhadiszállását Dél-Libanonban – közölte vasárnap az UNIFIL.
„Rakétával találták el főhadiszállásunkat Nakurában, és most próbáljuk kideríteni, hogy honnan. Békefenntartóink abban az időben nem voltak sátraikban. Szerencsére senki sem sérült meg” – áll az UNIFIL közleményében, amely szerint a nap folyamán intenzív tüzérségi párbajt figyeltek meg a két országot elválasztó demarkációs vonal, az úgynevezett kék vonal mentén.
„Aktívan kapcsolatban állunk a kék vonal mindkét oldalának hatóságaival, hogy feszültségmentesítsük a helyzetet, de erőfeszítéseink dacára sajnálatosan a katonai eszkaláció folytatódik” – ismertette a békefenntartó misszió.
Az UNIFIL a konfliktus szereplőit tűzszünetre szólította fel és békefenntartói közbenjárását ajánlotta fel, hogy kiutat találjanak a helyzetből.
„Senki sem akar még több halottat, vagy sebesültet. Emlékeztetjük a feleket, hogy a civilek, illetve ENSZ-személyzet elleni támadások a nemzetközi jog megsértésének számítanak, amik akár háborús bűncselekménnyel is felérhetnek” – tették hozzá.
