Éghajlati összeomlás bizonyítékai az európai áradások. Több országban kellett evakuálni az embereket az árvizek miatt.
Ezer embert evakuáltak az észak-olaszországi régiókat sújtó áradások miatt. A közép-európai régióban szélsőséges az időjárás Lengyelországban, Ausztriában és Csehországban is.
Özönvízszerű esőzés Olaszországban
Észak-Olaszországban özönvízszerű esőzések és súlyos áradások sújtották Emilia-Romagna régiót. Ravenna, Bologna és Faenza tartományokban megáradtak a folyók, ezért a helyi hatóságok arra kérték az embereket, hogy maradjanak otthonuk felső szintjein, vagy hagyják el azokat azonnal. Mintegy 800 ravennai és 200 bolognai lakos töltötte az éjszakát menedékhelyeken, iskolákban és sportközpontokban az árvíz miatt.
Az iskolákat bezárták és a vonatforgalmat felfüggesztették a szélsőséges időjárás miatt. A lakosoknak azt tanácsolták, hogy lehetőség szerint kerüljék az utazást.
Árvizek a Cseh Köztársaságban
Vit Rakusan cseh belügyminiszter elmondta, hogy csütörtökön újabb ember vesztette életét az ország súlyosan érintett északkeleti részén, így a halálos áldozatok száma ötre emelkedett.
Az északkeleti régióban a katonák csatlakoztak a tűzoltókhoz és más sürgősségi szolgálatokhoz, hogy segítsenek a helyreállításban.
Helikopterek hordták szét a humanitárius segélyeket, miközben a katonák ideiglenes hidakat építettek az árvíz által elsodortak helyére.
Körülbelül 400 ember maradt az evakuációs központokban a regionális fővárosban, Ostravában, mert nem tudnak hazatérni.

A hírek szerint legalább 17-en meghaltak, amikor egy autóbusz felborult kedd reggel a Kabult és Balkhot összekötő főúton. A baleset okát egyelőre nem tudni. Texast hetek óta szélsőséges időjárás sújtja az Egyesült Államok délnyugati részén. A folyamatos esőzések miatt a folyók megáradtak, és a kiömlő víz több házat és utat is elárasztott. Az állam nyugati részén a nagy mennyiségű csapadék mellett tornádók is károkat okoznak. A szélsőséges időjárás következtében tucatnyi embert kellett evakuálni, és bár több sérültről tudnak, halálesetről nem érkezett bejelentés eddig.
Legkevesebb 178 embert menekítettek ki otthonából és járművéből a texasi Harris megyében a hétvégén pusztító esőzések és erős viharok következtében – írja a CNN. Lina Hidalgo, Harris megyei bíró halálesetről vagy súlyos sérülésről nem számolt be. Elmondta, hogy a háziállatok biztonságáról sem feledkeznek meg, így eddig több mint 100 háziállatot mentettek meg az áradás sújtotta vidéken.

Tanzánia miniszterelnöke, Kassim Majaliwa elmondta, hogy az El Nino által okozott heves esőzések erős széllel, árvizekkel és földcsuszamlásokkal sújtották Tanzániát, ami már több mint száz ember életét követelte és jelentős károkat okozott az országban. Kenyát is érintette az árvíz, ahol legkevesebb 32 ember halt meg villámárvíz következtében.
Több mint száz ember vesztette életét és több mint kétszázan megsérültek a tanzániai áradásokban – közölte csütörtökön Kassim Majaliwa, az ország miniszterelnöke. Több mint 10 000 ház sérült meg, és több mint 200 000 embert érintett, mondta a miniszterelnök a tanzániai parlamentben a fővárosban, Dodomában.
Kassim Majaliwa hozzátette, hogy „a heves El Nino esőzések, amelyeket erős szél, valamint áradások és földcsuszamlások kísértek az ország különböző részein, jelentős károkat okoztak”. „Ezek közé tartoznak a halálesetek, a terméskárok, az épületekben és lakóházakban, az infrastruktúrában – például az utakban, hidakban és vasutakban – keletkezett károk” – mondta Majaliwa a CNN szerint.
A miniszterelnök csütörtöki bejelentése szerint az áradásoknak 155 halálos áldozata és legalább 236 sérültje van.
Az árvíz Kenyát is érintette, amely Kelet-Afrikában Tanzániával közös határon fekszik. Keddig legalább 32 ember halt meg az áradások következtében Kenyában az ENSZ Humanitárius Ügyek Koordinációs Hivatala (OCHR) szerint. Kenyában március közepe óta heves esőzéseket regisztráltak, de a felhőszakadások az elmúlt héten fokozódtak, ami tömeges áradásokhoz vezetett, amelyek mintegy 103 500 embert érintettek.
A kenyai Vöröskereszt szerint a márciusi áradás kezdete óta több mint 188 mentést hajtottak végre. A kenyai főváros, Nairobi egyes útjait szerdán lezárták, és több városrész víz alatt maradt az újabb heves esőzések után. A Kenya Railways országszerte felfüggesztette az ingázó vonatok közlekedését.

A kormányfő szerint az El Nino időjárási jelenséghez köthető ítéletidő az ország több térségében súlyos anyagi károkat is okozott. Az áradások és földcsuszamlások következtében több mint 230 ember megsérült, és több mint 10 ezer lakóház megrongálódott. Április közepén a kelet-afrikai ország kormányszóvivője még 58 halálos áldozatról számolt be a heves esőzésekkel összefüggésben.
Kelet-Afrika több országában a megszokottnál jóval több csapadék hullott az utóbbi időben. Az esős évszak márciusi kezdete óta Kenyában legkevesebb 55 ember halt meg áradások miatt. Burundiban csaknem 100 ezer ember kényszerült elhagyni az otthonát a hónapok óta tartó, csaknem folyamatos esőzés miatt.
Idén az esős évszakhoz kapcsolódik az El Nino-jelenség is, amely 2023 közepén kezdődött, és legalább májusig tart még a Meteorológiai Világszervezet szerint. Az El Nino következtében a világ számos térségében emelkedik a hőmérséklet, szárazság alakul ki, vagy fokozódik a csapadékmennyiség.

Kína déli részében rendkívüli időjárási viszonyok uralkodnak, amelyek következtében Kuangtung tartományban egy több mint 1700 fős város evakuálásra került. A Shaoguan régióban fekvő település lakóit buszokkal és helikopterekkel szállították biztonságos helyre az áradások miatt. A helyi média beszámolói szerint a térségben soha nem tapasztalt esőzések és jégesők pusztítottak, amelyek sárcsuszamlásokat okoztak, elárasztották a lakóházakat, hidakat döntöttek, valamint az elektromos vezetékek és a mobiltelefon-hálózatok megszakadásához vezettek.
A viharok április óta több csapadékrekordot is megdöntöttek a tartományban. A héten több videó is megjelent, ahogy a tartományi fővárosban, Kantonban az emberek döbbenettel figyelték, ahogy a szél ereje orkánerejűvé válik, fákat tépve ki gyökerestül a földből.
Az aktuális viharokat az El Nino időjárási jelenség és egy erős szubtrópusi magasnyomású rendszer kombinációja okozta, amely extra nedvességet vonzott a Dél-kínai-tenger és a Bengáli-öböl felől. Ez jelentős mennyiségű eső és erős szelek formájában nyilvánult meg. A meteorológusok szerint ezek az időjárási körülmények további esőzéseket és szeleket hozhatnak a régióba.

Heves esőzések sújtották a hétvégén Brazília délkeleti régióját, legalább 23 ember vesztette életét Rio de Janeiro és Espirito Santo államokban.
Espirito Santos állam kormányzósága vasárnap közölte, hogy a péntek óta tartó heves esőzések okozta árvizek és földcsuszamlások halálos áldozatainak száma elérte a tizenötöt, és közel ötezer ember kényszerült otthona elhagyására.
A Rio állambeli hatóságok szombaton nyolc halálos áldozatról számoltak be.
A mentőcsapatok újabb földcsuszamlások veszélyétől tartva péntek estétől szombat délutánig mindkét államban felfüggesztették a mentési műveleteket.

Legkevesebb száz ember halálát okozták az elmúlt két hét esőzései és áradásai a Kongói Demokratikus Köztársaságban – közölték a helyi hatóságok pénteken.
A december 11-i rendkívüli esőzések és áradások Dél-Kivu székhelyét Bukavut és térségét sújtották leginkább, a levonuló ár hidakat és házakat mosott el, jelentős kárt tett az infrastruktúrában, legkevesebb 15 ember meghalt. Az özönvízszerű esőzések következtében december 26-ról 27-re további 21 ember vesztette életét a bukavui régióban.
Zénon Karumba, Bukavu polgármestere a helyi sajtónak elmondta, hogy a halálos katasztrófák hátterében elsősorban az engedély nélküli ellenőrizetlen építkezések állnak.
A Bukavutól 120 kilométerre fekvő Mwenga térségében az áradások, valamint a föld- és lejtőcsuszamlások 42 ember halálát okozták.
Áradásokról szóló beszámolók érkeztek az afrikai ország középső részén fekvő Kaszai térségéből is, ahol a medréből kilépő folyók 22 ember halálát okozták Kanangában, a fővárosban. A megáradt folyók – helyi jelentések szerint – jelentős anyagi kárt okoztak a mintegy 1,5 millió lakosú régióban.
