A város különböző pontjain kezdtek gyülekezni az Európa-párti felvonulás résztvevői Tbilisziben, hogy csatlakozzanak a Szabadság téri tiltakozó akcióhoz „Georgia az Európai Uniót választja” szlogennel, amelyet hat nappal a parlamenti választások előtt tartottak meg – számolt be a SOVA című kiadvány, közölte a Jevropejszka Pravda.
A grúz polgárok, az „Erős Georgia” koalíció tagjai és támogatói a Mardzsanisvili metróállomás közelében gyűltek össze. Az egyik transzparensen Bidzina Ivanisvilinek, a „Georgiai álom” kormánypárt oligarchájának és alapítójának üzentek: „Bidzina egy hét múlva otthon lesz, Moszkvában!”.
A koalíció egyik vezetője, Mamuka Kazaradze hangsúlyozta: fontos, hogy a tiltakozást meghallják azok a polgárok, akik még nem döntötték el, hogy részt vesznek-e az október 26-i parlamenti választáson.
„Nem kötelező ránk k szavazni, hanem az ellenzéki pártokra kell… Ezt az országot koalíciós kormánynak kell vezetnie, ha nagyon gyors előrelépést akarunk elérni”, jelentette ki Kazaradze, a „Lelo” vezetője.
Eközben az emberek transzparensekkel, Georgia és az Európai Unió zászlóival érkeztek. Ukrajna zászlaja is ott lobogott. Ezzel azt üzenték, hogy a két európai családba törekvő országnak közös útja van.
A területen rendőrök álltak fel, a Belügyminisztérium alkalmazottai külön álltak.
19 órakor az Európa-párti felvonulás résztvevőinek összes oszlopa a Szabadság térre indult a tiltakozó akcióra és koncertre. A nagygyűlésen feltehetően beszédet mond Salome Zurabisvili, Georgia elnöke, aki előző nap az Európa-párti ellenzéki pártokra szavazott.
A „Georgia az EU-t választja” felvonulást közéleti aktivisták szervezték, válaszul Georgia uniós csatlakozásának de facto felfüggesztésére a kormány intézkedései miatt.
