 Az első információk szerint a rendőrség olyan számítógépeket foglalt le, amelyek a 2019-es uniós választási kampányban elkövetett állítólagos korrupcióval kapcsolatos folyamatban lévő nyomozásban szolgálhatnak bizonyítékokkal.
  
 Mario Voigt, a CDU türingiai vezetője volt Manfred Weber néppárti frakcióvezető kampánymenedzsere a 2019-es európai parlamenti választási kampányban, és a vizsgálatok középpontjában az online kampányra vonatkozó megbízás odaítélése áll.
 Tavaly szeptemberben a türingiai tartományi parlament igazságügyi bizottsága a német ügyészség vizsgálatáig felfüggesztette Voigt mentelmi jogát.
  
 Az EPP rövid közleményében megerősítette, hogy a belga és a német hatóságok képviselői április 4-én meglátogatták a párt brüsszeli székházát, hozzátéve, hogy a látogatás összefüggésben áll egy, a németországi Türingiában folyó nyomozással.
