Beidézte a francia igazságszolgáltatás Agnes Buzyn exegészségügyi minisztert, aki ellen feltételezhetően mások életének veszélyeztetése gyanújával eljárást indítanak a koronavírus-járvány franciaországi kezelése miatt folyó eljárás keretében – erősítették meg csütörtökön igazságügyi források a Le Monde című napilap értesülését.
A kormánypárti politikust, aki 2020 februárjáig irányította az egészségügyi tárcát, pénteken hallgatja meg a miniszteri rangú politikusok ügyeivel foglalkozó, 1999-ben létrehozott francia köztársasági bíróság (CJR).
A járvány kezdetén hivatalban lévő kormány ellen eredetileg kilencven panasz érkezett az eddig 115 ezer áldozatot követelő járvány kezdete óta arra a jogszabályra hivatkozva, amely szerint két év szabadságvesztéssel és 30 ezer eurós pénzbüntetéssel sújtható az a kormánytag, aki szándékosan elmulasztja az emberek biztonságára veszélyt jelentő eseményekkel szemben a megfelelő intézkedéseket meghozni.
A kilencvenből 53-at vizsgált meg a CJR, és kilencet talált befogadhatónak. Ezek alapján 2020. július 7-én indította meg az előzetes vizsgálatot Edouard Philippevolt miniszterelnök, Agnes Buzyn volt egészségügyi miniszter és utóda Olivier Véran ellen. Ez utóbbi jelenleg is az egészségügyi tárcát vezeti. Közülük egyelőre csak Agnes Buzyn kapott idézést, jóllehet mindhármunknál tartott az ügyészség korábban házkutatást.
Buzyn 2020 február közepén azért lépett ki a kormányból, mert ő lett a kormánypárt polgármesterjelöltje Párizsban a márciusi önkormányzati választásokon, ahol alulmaradt a szocialista városvezetővel, Anne Hidalgóval szemben.
A volt miniszter óriási felháborodást váltott ki, amikor később úgy nyilatkozott: a tárcától való távozásakor „tudta, hogy a cunamihullám előttünk áll”, miközben januárban miniszterként nyilvánosan még azt állította, hogy a koronavírus elterjedésének kockázata a lakosság körében nagyon csekély, bár hozzátette, hogy ez még változhat. A nemzetgyűlés vizsgálóbizottsága előtt 2020 júniusban Buzyn elmondta, hogy január 11-én írásban jelezte a miniszterelnöknek és a köztársasági elnöknek is, hogy a koronavírus „potenciális veszélyt” rejt magában.
Francois Molins, a semmítőszék főügyésze szerdán elmondta, hogy az eljárás megindítása óta 14 500 további panasz érkezett a CJR-hez a kormányzati válságkezelés ügyében.
