Több nyugati ország azonnali távozásra szólította fel állampolgárait Libanonból, és új vészhelyzeti tervek kidolgozásán dolgozik evakuálás megszervezésére, miután Izrael „korlátozott hadműveletet” indított a Hezbollah síita milícia ellen.
Noha Törökország is felajánlotta létesítményeit, a korábbi tapasztalatok, illetve földrajzi elhelyezkedése alapján az evakuálási folyamatok központja minden bizonnyal Ciprus lesz. Az Európai Unió Közel-Kelethez legközelebbi fekvő tagállamába 2006-ban mintegy 60 ezer embert menekítettek ki Libanonból, a Hezbollah és Izrael között akkor zajló háború elől.
Mivel a bejrúti nemzetközi repülőteret egyelőre nem zárták le a harcok miatt, néhány ország bérelt repülőgépekkel segíti állampolgárai távozását Libanonból. Más tervek szerint tengeri úton szállítanák a külföldieket és családjaikat Ciprusra, ami egyszerre nagyobb embercsoportok kimenekítését teszi lehetővé.
Ausztrália arra szólította fel az országban tartózkodó mintegy 15 ezer állampolgárát, hogy hagyják el a fővárost, amíg a bejrúti repülőtér működik. A kanadai hatóságokkal közösen kialakított vészhelyzeti tervek között azonban a tengeri úton történő evakuálás is szerepel, így egy kereskedelmi hajózási vállalattal kötött megegyezés alapján naponta ezer kanadai és ausztrál állampolgárt szállítanának Ciprusra Libanonból.
Franciaország már több hónapja kidolgozta stratégiáját állampolgárai kimenekítésére, evakuálási parancsot azonban még adtak ki. Párizs jelenlegi vészhelyzeti terveinek középpontjában Ciprus és a bejrúti repülőtér áll, de tárgyalnak a Törökországon keresztül történő evakuálásról is. Egy francia hadihajó már a térségben van, egy helikopterhordozó pedig a következő napokban érkezik a Földközi-tenger keleti részére, arra az esetre, ha döntés születik a külföldi állampolgárok evakuálásáról – közölte kedden a francia hadsereg szóvivője.
Németország légi úton már evakuálta Libanonból a nagykövetségi dolgozók családjait és az egészségügyileg veszélyeztetett német állampolgárokat, valamint támogatásáról biztosította a távozni szándékozó többi állampolgárát is – áll a külügyminisztérium és a védelmi minisztérium hétfőn kiadott közös közleményében.
Nagy-Britannia azonnali távozásra szólította fel állampolgárait Libanonból és mintegy 700 katonát vezényelt Ciprusra, ahol két katonai támaszpontja is van, valamint két hadihajója is a térségben tartózkodik. A brit kormány továbbá bérelt egy repülőgépet is, amely szerdától közvetlenül Londonba szállítja a távozó briteket.
Olaszország megerősítette a biztonsági személyzetet bejrúti nagykövetségén, Antonio Tajani külügyminiszter pedig ismételten arra kérte az olasz állampolgárokat, hogy sürgősen hagyják el az országot, valamint biztosítékokat kért Izraeltől, hogy a térségben nem éri támadás a békefenntartó műveletekben részt vevő olasz katonákat.
Washington több tucatnyi katonát vezényelt Ciprusra, hogy – felkészülve minden lehetséges forgatókönyvre – segítsék az amerikaiak evakuálását Libanonból.

A bizonytalan kilátások miatt Németország és Ausztria is arra szólította fel állampolgárait, hogy haladéktalanul hagyják el Ukrajnát – számol be a hírről a Bloomberg.
A német külügyminisztérium által kiadott tájékoztatás haladéktalanul arra kéri a német állampolgárokat, hogy hagyják el Ukrajnát, frissítve az egy héttel ezelőtti figyelmeztetést, hogy csak azok maradjanak ott, akiknek nyomós okuk van ezt tenni.
A külügy tájékoztatása szerint bármelyik percben kialakulhat katonai összecsapás, ilyen helyzetben pedig csak korlátozott lehetőség marad az állampolgárok támogatására.
Mindeközben a német Lufthansa légitársaság is bejelentette, hogy törli ukrán járatait, e szerint minden, február 21. és 28. közötti, Kijevbe tartó és onnan jövő járatát törli a társaság.
Németországhoz hasonlóan Ausztria is arra szólította fel állampolgárait, hogy azonnal hagyják el Ukrajna nagy részét a megjósolhatatlan biztonsági kilátások miatt. Ausztria ugyanakkor felmentette Ukrajna legnyugatibb régióit az utazási figyelmeztetés hatálya alól.

A Russia Today értesülései szerint csütörtökön a Donbász nevű ukrán hadihajó orosz felségvizek felé tartott Krím partszakasza mellett. Az oroszok többször is figyelmeztették a hajót arra, hogy engedély nélkül tart a határ felé, azonban a Donbász legénysége nem tett eleget az irányváltoztatással kapcsolatos felszólításnak.
Az orosz FSZB (Szövetségi Biztonsági Szolgálat) közleménye szerint az ukrán hadihajó Mariupolból hajózott ki és a Kercsi-szoros felé vette az irányt. Az oroszok szerint a Donbass nem kapott engedélyt arra, hogy az irányításuk alá tartozó szoroson átkeljen.
Többször is felszólították arra az ukrán legénységet, hogy forduljanak meg, azonban ennek ők nem tettek eleget arra hivatkozva, hogy nem áll szándékukban átkelni a szoroson. Az FSZB szerint azonban a területtől 19 tengeri mérföldre lévő hajó komoly fenyegetést jelent.
Az Interfax az FSZB-re hivatkozva arról számolt be, hogy a hajó egy idő után visszafordult. Az ukrán védelmi miniszter viszont azt állítja, hogy egy mentőhajóról és nem a Donbász nevű hadihajóról volt szó.

A Kelet-Jeruzsálemben és Ciszjordániában kialakult feszültségek és az erőszak azonnali mérséklésre szólította fel a feleket szombaton Peter Stano, az Európai Unió külügyi szolgálatának szóvivője.
Nyilatkozatában a szóvivő felidézte, hogy pénteken súlyos összecsapások történetek az izraeli rohamrendőrök és az al-Aksza mecsetnél a kelet-jeruzsálemi kilakoltatások ellen tüntető palesztinok között.
„Az erőszak és az uszítás elfogadhatatlan, az elkövetőket mind a két fél részéről felelősségre kell vonni” – hangsúlyozta Stano, hozzátéve, hogy a mecsetnek otthont adó Templomhegy (arab nevén: Haram al-Sarif) státuszát feltétlenül tiszteletben kell tartani.
Aggodalmát fejezte ki továbbá palesztin családoknak a kelet-jeruzsálemi Sejk Dzsarra negyedből történő kitelepítése miatt. Ebben a negyedben a zsidó telepesek az utóbbi években felvásároltak számos épületet, valamint jogi úton megkérdőjelezték számos palesztin család tulajdonjogát évtizedek óta lakott otthonaikhoz, és régebbi zsidó tulajdonosokra hivatkozva elkezdték kiköltöztetésüket. Az EU szerint az ilyen cselekedetek illegálisnak minősülnek a nemzetközi humanitárius jog szerint, és tovább szítják a kialakult feszültségeket.
„Mindkét fél politikai, vallási és közösségi vezetőinek önmérsékletet kell tanúsítaniuk, és erőfeszítéseiket az ingatag helyzet stabilizálásra kell összpontosítaniuk” – húzta alá a szóvivő.
A pénteki összecsapásokban több mint kétszáz tüntető és az izraeli hatóságok 17 tagja sebesült meg. A rendőrök gumilövedékekkel és villanógránátokkal oszlatták az őket kövekkel, vizes palackokkal és székekkel dobáló palesztinokat.
Jeruzsálem vitatott hovatartozása a palesztin-izraeli konfliktus egyik legfőbb nyitott kérdése. Az izraeliek Jeruzsálem egészét saját fővárosuknak nyilvánították, beleértve a város 1967-ben elfoglalt keleti szektorát is, míg a palesztinok Kelet-Jeruzsálemet szeretnék megtenni a Ciszjordániából és a Gázai övezetből létrehozni vágyott önálló államuk fővárosává.

Az izraeli legfelsőbb bíróság úgy döntött csütörtökön, hogy Benjámin Netanjahu miniszterelnöknek be kell tartania a összeférhetetlenségi korlátozásokat, melyeket Aviháj Mandelblit főügyész meghatározott számára korrupciós bírósági ügye miatt, jelentette a Jediót Ahronót című újság hírportálja, a ynet csütörtökön.
A legfelsőbb izraeli jogi grémium határozata szerint a főügyész jogkörébe tartozik a korrupciós vádak miatti összeférhetetlenségi szabályok meghatározása, és a kormányfőnek követnie kell őket. A legfelsőbb bíróság a Minőségi közéletért nevű civil mozgalom petíciója nyomán döntött a kérdésben, mely szerint Netanjahut korlátozni kell bizonyos kormányfői jogai gyakorlásában, mert azok gyakorlása összeférhetetlen lenne folyamatban lévő korrupciós ügyeivel.
A legfelsőbb bíróság egy korábbi határozata szerint Netanjahu csak azzal a feltétellel léphetett hivatalba kormányfőként, ha a főügyész meghatározza számára a vádlott helyzetéből adódó jogilag összeférhetetlen kérdéseket, és ezekben nem dönthet.
Mandelblit már tavaly nyáron átadta ezen jogkörök listáját a kormányfőnek, köztük a kormány mellett tevékenykedő főügyész, az állam legfőbb ügyésze és az országos rendőr-főkapitány kinevezésének tilalmát, távolmaradást az ezekkel a feladatokkal kapcsolatos törvényhozástól és a jeruzsálemi körzeti bírók és a legfelsőbb bíróság bíróinak kinevezésétől, mert ők hatással lehetnek az ellene folyó eljárásra. Netanjahu ezzel szemben maga akarta meghatározni a rá vonatkozó korlátozásokat, és azzal védekezett a legfelsőbb bíróságon, hogy szerinte Mandelblitnek nincs joga a szabályozás megalkotására, mert ez „megmásítja a választópolgárok akaratát.”
A bíróság elutasította a miniszterelnök érvelését, illetékesnek nyilvánította a rá vonatkozó korlátozások meghatározásában a főügyészt, és elrendelte, hogy Netanjahu engedelmeskedjen a Mandelblit által meghatározott szabályoknak.
Benjámin Netanjahu ellen csalás, közhivatallal való visszaélés és korrupció miatt nyújtott be vádiratot az ügyészség.
Tavaly májusban megkezdték ügyének tárgyalását a jeruzsálemi körzeti bíróságon. Április 5-én indul a per bizonyítási szakasza, amikor az ügyészség és a védelem hetente három napon át felvonultatja bizonyítékait és tanúit a vádak igazolására, illetve megcáfolására.

A testület tizenöt tagállama egyhangúlag elfogadott nyilatkozatában teljes támogatásáról biztosította. Az ENSZ BT öt európai tagja, Belgium, Észtország, Franciaország, Nagy-Britannia és Németország kérésére sürgősséggel összehívott ülésen a tagállamok élesen elítélték az erőszak alkalmazását és a civilek elleni támadásokat.
Azonnali tűzszünetre szólított fel az Örményország és Azerbajdzsán között kirobbant konfliktusban Michelle Bachelet, az ENSZ emberi jogi főbiztosa is.
Hegyi-Karabahban és környékén vasárnap robbantak ki ismét harcok. Baku közölte, hogy örmény részről heves ágyútűz érte az azeri hadsereg állásait. Ezzel párhuzamosan Jereván az azeri hadseregnek az el nem ismert Hegyi-Karabah köztársaság, illetve annak székhelye, Sztyepanakert irányában, valamint az enkláve környékén folytatott harci cselekményéről adott hírt. Az örmények ugyancsak vádolják Törökországot is: állításuk szerint Ankara F–16-os vadászgépe lőtte le az örmény SZU–25-ös vadászgépet kedden, de ezt a törökök visszautasították.
A többségében örmények lakta Hegyi-Karabah hovatartozása 1988 február óta ismét nyílt vita tárgya Baku és Jereván között. A terület Azerbajdzsántól az 1992–1994-ben, Örményország támogatásával megvívott háború eredményeként szakadt el, amelyben 30 ezer ember veszítette életét és százezrek kényszerültek menekülésre.
A tartomány függetlenségét csak korlátozottan elismert államok ismerik el, de facto Örményország része, de jure Azerbajdzsáné, ami továbbra is saját területének tekinti a hegyi-karabahi területet. Az 1994 óta érvényes fegyvernyugvást mindkét oldalon rendszeresen megsértik.

A G7-országcsoport külügyminiszterei közös nyilatkozatban szólították fel kedden Oroszországot Alekszej Navalnij orosz ellenzéki politikus mérgezési ügyének mielőbbi kivizsgálására.
„Mi, Kanada, Franciaország, Németország, Olaszország, Japán, az Egyesült Királyság és az Egyesült Államok külügyminiszterei, valamint az Európai Unió főképviselője a lehető leghatározottabban elítéljük Alekszej Navalnij megerősítést nyert megmérgezését” – áll a dokumentumban.
Moszkvának sürgősen felelősségre kell vonnia az elkövetőket – olvasható a Washingtonban közzétett nyilatkozatban, amely szerint Oroszországnak teljes átláthatóságot kell teremtenie az ügyben. A miniszterek hangsúlyozták azt is, hogy a vegyi fegyverek bárminemű alkalmazása elfogadhatatlan, és az ilyen harceszközök tilalmáról szóló nemzetközi egyezményekbe ütközik.
„Szorosan nyomon fogjuk követni, hogy Oroszország miként reagál a nemzetközi közösség magyarázatot követelő felszólításaira Navalnij szörnyűséges megmérgezésének ügyében” – tették hozzá a külügyminiszterek.
A 44 éves Navalnij szervezetéből vett minták alapján a német hadsereg vegyifegyver-szakértői kimutatták, hogy az ellenzéki politikust az egykori Szovjetunióban kifejlesztett Novicsok típusú harci idegmérgek egyik fajtájával mérgezték meg. A német kormány a vizsgálati eredmények alapján közölte, hogy Navalnij mérgezéses támadás áldozata lett hazájában.
Moszkva a maga részéről kifogásolta, hogy a német fél sem az orosz főügyészség, sem a Navalnijt kezelő orvosok kérésére nem szolgáltatott információt arról, hogy milyen megállapításra jutott. A méreganyagra vonatkozó bizonyítékok hiányára hivatkozva az orosz hatóságok bűnügyi nyomozást nem, csak előzetes vizsgálatot indítottak.
