Sajtójelentések szerint környezeti károkat a Sao Paulo állam Jundiaí városában található Tulipas botanikai park tavában egy 2000 liter színezőanyagot szállító teherautó balesete okozta, amely kedden felborult és a kiszivárgott vegyi anyag a vízbe került.
A szóban forgó vízbázisú színezőanyagot rendszerint garnélarákok tenyésztésénél használják gombafertőzések és egyéb élősködők ellen, s nem számít mérgezőnek – jelentette az UOL helyi hírportál a Sao Pauló-i környezetvédelmi hatóságra hivatkozva.
A történtek ennek ellenére komoly aggályokat keltettek, környezetvédelmi csapatok számos kékre színeződött állatot, a többi között kacsákat és ludakat mentettek ki a tóból, de elpusztult halakat is találtak. „A halpusztulás aggodalomra ad okot” – mondta Vania Plaza Nunes, a Grad állatvédő-szervezet állatorvosa.
Az ügyészség a városvezetéstől, a környezetvédelmi hatóságtól és más hatóságoktól átfogó információkat kért be a vegyi anyagról és a tó ökológiai sérülékenységéről.

Egy nemzetközi radikális klímaaktivista csoport két tagja leöntötte narancssárga festékkel a lengyel főváros jelképét, a Visztula partján 1939 óta álló hableányszobrot – közölte pénteken a helyi média.
Az Utolsó Nemzedék videofelvételt is készített két lengyel női tagjának tettéről, és feltették azt az X-re. „Így ünneplem a Nők napját” – olvasható a videót kísérő bejegyzésben.
A fényvisszaverő mellényt viselő aktivisták a felvételen klímavédelmi és feminista jelszavakat kiabálnak. „Továbbra is megsértik a jogainkat, amelyekért keményen küzdöttünk” – jelentette ki a felvételen az egyik nő. Hozzátette, hogy „a helyzet csak súlyosbodni fog”. „A klímakatasztrófa háborúkat jelent, a háborúk pedig fizikai és nemi erőszakot” – folytatta. „Az utolsó nemzedék vagyunk, és harcolunk magunkért” – tette hozzá.
A két aktivistát őrizetbe vették – közölte Barbara Szczerba, a varsói rendőrfőkapitányság munkatársa a Wirtualna Polska hírportállal.
Előzőleg, vasárnap az Utolsó Nemzedék két másik női aktivistája a varsói Nemzeti Filharmónia hangversenyét zavarta meg. Az emelvényre ugrottak, kibontottak egy transzparenst, és klímavédelmi jelszavakat kiabáltak. A transzparenst maga a karmester, a neves lengyel Antoni Wit tépte ki a kezükből úgy, hogy közben a zenekar játszotta tovább Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Koronázási miséjét. A demonstráció résztvevői az Elég volt az állatokból a cirkuszokban! – feliratú transzparens húzták ki az olasz főváros egyik legnagyobb terén, a Piazza del Popolón. A tér közepén álló szökőkutat (Fontana dell’Obelisco) négy oroszlán díszíti, közepén egy ókori egyiptomi obeliszk magasodik. A színes festék a szökőkút egy részét borította be.
A helyszínen állandó állomáshellyel bíró csendőrök egy 33 éves férfit és egy 29 éves nőt vettek őrizetbe. Műemlékrongálás miatt feljelentést tettek ellenük.
Az akciót az Állati Forradalom nevű mozgalom vállalta magára.
Az olasz parlament januárban szigorította a műemlékek és műkincsek rongálásáért kiszabható büntetéseket. A kettőtől öt évig terjedő börtönbüntetés mellett hatvanezer euróig emelték a fejenként kiszabható bírságot, amely több mint 22 millió forintnak felel meg.
