Az Egyesült Államok szerint Oroszország a múlt héten felbocsátott egy műholdat, amelyről úgy véli, hogy képes lehet más szondák megtámadására.



Oroszország egy műholdat bocsátott alacsony Föld körüli pályára, amely megítélésünk szerint valószínűleg űrfegyver – mondta Pat Ryder, a Pentagon szóvivője kedd este.






Kiemelte, hogy az objektum egy amerikai kormányműholddal mozgott ugyanazon a pályán. Hozzátette, hogy Washington továbbra is figyelemmel kíséri a helyzetet, és készen áll érdekeinek védelmére.



Oroszország nyilvánosan nem kommentálta a kérdést.



Moszkva és Washington az elmúlt hetekben többször is összetűzésbe került az űrfegyverek kérdésében az ENSZ-ben, és mindkét fél egymást vádolta az űr militarizálására irányuló törekvéssel.



Korábban kedden az orosz külügyminisztérium szóvivője, Maria Zakharova azt állította, hogy az Egyesült Államok arra törekszik, hogy az űrt „katonai konfrontáció arénájává” alakítsa. Számos katonai szakértő már régóta figyelmeztetett arra, hogy valószínűleg az űr lesz a hadviselés következő határa az egyre inkább technológiafüggő világban – írta a BBC.
