Az intézmény a Facebook-oldalán hétfőn azt írta, októberben 12 természetes eredetű földrengés volt, míg 129 földmozgást emberi tevékenység okozott Magyarországon és szűkebb környezetében, utóbbiak jellemzően kőfejtéshez köthető bányarobbantások voltak.

A szeizmológiai obszervatórium a Facebook-oldalán csütörtökön azt írta, szeptemberben 33 természetes eredetű földrengés volt, míg 127 földmozgást emberi tevékenység okozott Magyarországon és szűkebb környezetében, ezek jellemzően kőfejtéshez köthető bányarobbantások voltak.
Hozzátették: ezek közül mindössze egy esemény volt a lakosság által is érezhető, a Fejér vármegyei Bodajktól körülbelül 4 kilométerre keletkezett, 2,3-as magnitudójú rengés szeptember 6-án.

Az 5,2-es rengés epicentruma a sziget délnyugati csücskén lévő Reykjanes-félszigeten volt, a fővárostól, Reykjavíktól délre. Sem sérültekről, sem komolyabb károkról nem érkezett jelentés, de az izlandi polgári védelem elővigyázatosságra intette a lakosokat.
A több száz földmozgásból a szombat reggelin kívül kiemelkedett még egy szerdai rengés, amely elérte az 5,7-es fokozatot. Mivel az észak-atlanti szigetország törésvonalakon fekszik, az izlandiak már hozzászoktak a gyakori földrengésekhez. Ez a mostani hosszú földmozgássorozat azonban szokatlannak számít, a tartama és az 5,0-ös fokozatot meghaladó erejű rengések miatt is.
Szeizmológusok úgy értékelik, hogy ezúttal nem egy nagy rengéshez kapcsolódott számos kisebb elő- és utórengés, hanem több úgynevezett „főrengés” mehetett végbe nagyjából egyidejűleg.
