Hollywoodban a színészek szakszervezete előzetes megállapodást kötött a tévéstúdiókat képviselő Mozgókép- és Televíziós Producerek Szövetségével, amellyel egész éven át tárgyalt, egy jó megállapodásért.
Hiába oldották meg az írók sztrájkját szeptemberben, a forgatások mégis álltak, mivel a színészek továbbra is sztrájkoltak és tárgyaltak a szerződésükről. Náluk is, mint a forgatókönyvíróknál az ellenkezést a mesterséges intelligencia térnyerése váltotta ki, amely mellőzte volna őket.
A közelmúltban egy több mint 5000 tag által aláírt online petíció sürgette a szakszervezetet, hogy képviseljen kemény álláspontot a végső megállapodáson, ne egyezzen bele semmibe, ami nem felel meg a sztrájk kezdetén megfogalmazott követeléseknek. A sztrájk egyébként közel négy hónapra leállította a termelést az egész iparágban, és egzisztenciális kérdéseket vetett fel a szórakoztatóipar jövőjét illetően – írta a CNN.
Fran Drescher, a szakszervezet elnöke „történelminek” nevezte a megállapodást, és a stúdiók szerint a megállapodás „új paradigmát képvisel” Hollywood, a tévé és a színészek számára. A sztrájk hivatalosan éjfélkor ér véget – áll a szakszervezet közleményében, amellyel lezárult Hollywood történetének egyik leghosszabb és legzavaróbb sztrájkja, amely megtorpant az iparágban.
A tárgyalások során az egyik legnagyobb vita tárgya az volt, hogy a SAG-AFTRA 11 százalékos béremelést követelt a tervezett szerződési időszak első évében, miközben a stúdiók csak 5 százalékos béremelést akart adni.
A megállapodás feltételeit, amelyet a szakszervezet tagjainak még ratifikálniuk kell, mielőtt hatályba léphet, nem hozták azonnal nyilvánosságra.
A szakszervezet azt mondta, hogy addig nem fedi fel a dokumentum részleteit, amíg a szakszervezet testülete át nem vizsgálja. A tagoknak szóló nyilatkozatban azonban rendkívülinek nevezte a milliárd dolláros megállapodás hatáskörét, megjegyezve, hogy az magában foglalja a fizetési minimumok jelentős emelését, a mesterséges intelligencia védelmét és a streaming részvételi bónuszt. Olyan szerződéshez érkeztünk, amely lehetővé teszi a SAG-AFTRA minden tagja fenntartható karriert építsen.
A stúdiók közleményükben azt írták, hogy a színészek
a szakszervezet történetének legnagyobb eredményét érték el, köztük az elmúlt negyven év legnagyobb minimálbér-emelését, de kiterjedt beleegyezési és kompenzációs védelem jár a mesterséges intelligencia használatában.
Ez volt az első alkalom, hogy az írók és a színészek egyszerre sztrájkoltak több helyen.
A SAG-AFTRA által képviselt színészek most visszatérnek dolgozni, miután július 14-én kivonultak a forgatásokról és csatlakoztak az írói céhhez.
A sztrájkoló színészek többszöri próbálkozás után, október 2-án folytatták a tárgyalásokat a producerekkel. A színészek szerződéses tárgyalásai azonban október 11-én megszakadtak, majd a hónap végén újra kezdődtek. Már akkor úgy tűnt, hogy a színészek sztrájkja az utolsó felvonáshoz érkezik. A SAG-AFTRA és az AMPTP jelentős előrelépést ért el a tárgyalások során, és előzetes megegyezésre jutott.
Los Angeles megszenvedte a sztrájkot. Közgazdászok szerint a hollywoodi sztrájkok költségesek voltak, és országos gazdasági hatásuk legalább 5 milliárd dollár.
A város polgármestere, Karen Bass kijelentette, hogy üdvözli a sztrájk végéről szóló bejelentést, mert a több mint 100 napos megmozdulás milliókat érintett Los Angelesben és az egész országban. A hatások túlmutattak a termelésen, ez érintette a helyi vállalkozásokat és éttermeket, valamint a sminkeseket és a letétkezelőket.

Meghalt két színész, akik a Netflix The Chosen One (A kiválasztott) című sorozatán dolgoztak Mexikóban; hat másik szereplő pedig megsérült, miután egy kisteherautóval ütköztek Mulege közelében a Baja California Sur-félszigeten.
A Baja California Kulturális Minisztérium arról számolt be, hogy a balesetben Raymundo Garduño Cruz és Juan Francisco González Aguilar vesztette életét.
A helyi média jelentése szerint az eset június 16-án, csütörtökön történt, miután a színészek furgonja lesodródott az útról egy sivatagos területen. A jelentések szerint az utasok a közeli Santa Rosalia környékén dolgoztak a sorozaton – írta a Unilad.
A széria egyébként Mark Millar és Peter Gross képregénysorozata alapján készül, amelyben egy 12 éves fiú megtudja, hogy ő a visszatért Jézus Krisztus, akinek az a sorsa, hogy megmentse az emberiséget.
