Rendőrök is megsérültek Lengyelországban miután zavargásokba torkollott szerdán Varsóban a nemzeti körök által szervezett függetlenség napi felvonulás. A rendőrség közlése szerint a garázdákból álló csoportok ellen könnygázt és gumilövedéket is be kellett vetni.







A hagyományos függetlenség napi menetet idén a koronavírus-járvány miatt autós felvonulás formájában tervezték megtartani, a szervezők a járványügyi szabályok betartása érdekében döntöttek a gépkocsis felvonulás mellett. A koronavírus-járvány miatt Lengyelországban jelenleg tilosak az öt főnél nagyobb gyülekezések.



Ennek ellenére a megemlékezésre több ezren gyalog érkeztek. Erre reagálva, a torlódások elkerülése érdekében a szervezők meghosszabbították az autós felvonulás eredetileg tervezett útvonalát. Autós és motorkerékpáros résztvevők a nemzeti zászlókkal díszített járműveikkel a Poniatowski, majd a Lazienkowski hídon, valamint az ezeket összekötő főutcákon haladtak át. A szervezők ezt követően az akciót befejezettnek nyilvánították.



A gyalogos menet résztvevői fáklyákat, petárdákat vittek magukkal. Feltehetőleg a kilőtt pirotechnikai eszközöktől kigyulladt egy lakás az útvonal mentén álló egyik társasházban, a tüzet eloltották, senki nem sérült meg.



Rendőrségi közlemény szerint a gyalogos ünneplők közé huligáncsoportok keveredtek, ezek a Nemzeti Múzeum közelében kövekkel, petárdokkal dobálták a rendőröket. A rendőrség könnygázt, „egyéni esetekben” pedig gumilövedéket is használt. Sajtóértesülések szerint a helyszínen mentők ápolták a sérülteket.



Egy csoportot a rendőrség a Nemzeti Stadion környékén is körbevett, a tüntetők ott is különféle tárgyakat dobáltak a rendfenntartók irányában. Több embert őrizetbe vettek. Egyes megfigyelők szerint a huligáncsoportok magatartása provokáció lehetett.







A függetlenség napi felvonulást sem autós, sem gyalogos formában nem engedélyezte az ellenzéki varsói főpolgármester, Rafal Trzaskowski. Mateusz Morawiecki kormányfő azt kérte, hogy a járvány idején az emberek ne vegyenek részt a felvonuláson.



A lengyel politikai vezetők az évfordulót szentmiséken, koszorúzásokon ünnepelték. A megemlékezések, valamint a hozzájuk kötődő számos kulturális rendezvény döntő részét a járvány miatt online formában tartották meg.



A függetlenség napja a legnagyobb lengyel nemzeti ünnep. Annak emlékére tartják, hogy Lengyelország az első világháború végén, 1918 novemberében, 123 év felosztottság után visszaszerezte önálló államiságát. A független Lengyelország létrejöttét november 11-től számítják, amikor németországi fogságából Varsóba érkezett a haza megmentőjének tartott Józef Pilsudski.
