A Franciaországhoz tartozó Guadeloupe-ban nagyon feszült a helyzet, a tüntetők az oltatlanokat sújtó korlátozások miatt dühöngenek.
Az elmúlt hónapokban zavargás és békétlenkedés ütötte fel a fejét a francia tengerentúlon, Guadeloupe-ban, valamint a közelében fekvő Martinique szigeten. A tiltakozást a koronavírus ellen bevezetett korlátozások váltották ki a lakosokból.
Guadeloupe területén péntekre virradó éjjel a zavargás erőszakba torkollt, amely során a rendfenntartók összecsaptak a tüntetőkkel, és legalább egy rendőr megsérült. A karibi sziget prefektúrája szerint a tiltakozók kövekkel, lövésekkel és Molotov-koktélokkal támadtak a rendfenntartókra.
A sebesült rendőrt egy golyó találta el, őt kórházba szállították. A prefektúra hivatalos közleményében elítélte az esetet, és támogatásáról biztosította a sérültet.
Később az interneten videók kezdtek terjedni a pénteki káoszról, a képsorok égő blokádok és levegőbe emelkedő füstoszlopok láthatók. A helyzetet a közösségi média felhasználói „rendkívül feszültnek” minősítették.
A zavargások a COVID-19 miatt szigorodó korlátozások miatt törtek ki, ami miatt például egyes oltatlan alkalmazottakat felfüggesztettek állásukból. A tüntetők a szigeten uralkodó rossz életkörülmények miatt is elégedetlenkedtek – számolt be a Sputnik News.
Legutóbb decemberben került sor súlyosabb incidensre Guadeloupe-ban, akkor több százan rohamozták meg a regionális tanács épületét, a képviselőket pedig evakuálni kellett a teremből, mielőtt a tüntetők elérték volna őket. Emmanuel Macron francia elnök akkor „nagyon robbanásveszélyesnek” nevezte a helyzetet.
