Legkevesebb kilenc ember életét vesztette Guineában abban a szombati incidensben, amelynek során fegyveresek megrohamoztak egy börtönt, és rövid időre kiszabadították onnan a nyugat-afrikai országot irányító junta egykori vezetőjét – közölte hétfőn a guineai igazságügyi minisztérium.



Moussa Dadis Camara, aki 2008 és 2010 között állt a junta élén, egy 2009-es tüntetés brutális vérbe fojtása miatt van őrizetben. Szombat hajnalban fegyveresek kiszabadították a börtönből három társával együtt. A hatóságok nagy erőkkel kutatni kezdtek a szökevények után, és néhány órán belül el is fogták a junta egykori vezetőjét, akit a nap végére vissza is szállítottak a börtönbe Conakryban.






Az igazságügyi minisztérium tájékoztatása szerint kilenc holttestet találtak a véres incidens után, az akcióban három támadó, négy katona és még két ember halt meg. Hat ember megsebesült, őket kórházban ápolják.



Moussa Dadis Camara 2008-ban került hatalomra Guineában katonai államcsínyt követően. Az országot 2010-ig irányította a junta élén, majd 2021-ig emigrációban élt. Tavaly szeptemberben vették őrizetbe és állították bíróság elé a 2009-ben a főváros, Conakry stadionjában elkövetett mészárlás miatt, amelynek során a katonák – 157 embert megölve – vérbe fojtottak egy tüntetést.

Tűzharc tört ki szombaton a guineai főváros, Conakry központjában, emiatt a biztonsági erők gyorsan lezárták a környéket – közölték szemtanúk az AFP-vel.



A folyamatos fegyverropogás okát egyelőre nem sikerült tisztázni. A nyugat-afrikai országot 2021 szeptembere óta Mamady Doumbouya ezredes vezeti, aki 11 év polgári uralom után puccsal vette át a hatalmat.



„A városközpontot hajnal óta lezárták, nem tudunk se bemenni, se kimenni” – mondta egy neve elhallgatását kérő boltos.

Több szemtanú szerint az utak üresek voltak, és több ponton páncélozott járműveket lehetett látni a Kaloum nevű városnegyed környékén.



A főváros ezen részén található az elnöki hivatal, valamint több vezető kormányzati és közigazgatási hivatal, továbbá a katonai parancsnokság és a központi börtön.



Több szemtanú szerint a lövöldözés a börtön közelében robbant ki, írja a France 24 francia állami televíziós hírcsatorna.



Egy repülőtéri forrás szerint szombat reggel egyetlen járat sem szállt fel Conakry nemzetközi repülőteréről, mivel a légi forgalmi személyzet nem tudott eljutni a repülőtérre Kaloumból.

Sajtóhírek szerint automata fegyverekből leadott lövések zaja hallatszott Guinea fővárosban, Conakryban az elnöki palotánál, az utcákon páncélozott járműveken és teherautókon ülő katonák járőröztek vasárnap. A hatóságok egyelőre nem kommentálták a történteket.



Egy nevének elhallgatását kérő katonai vezető azt mondta a Reuters brit hírügynökségnek, hogy a Kaloum-félszigethez – ahol a kormányzati negyed található – vezető egyetlen hidat lezárták, és állig felfegyverzett katonák veszik körül az elnöki palotát.







Egy kormányzati illetékes annyit közölt, hogy Alpha Condé elnök sértetlen, de további részleteket nem árult el. Egy szemtanú a Reutersnek azt mondta, hogy a lövöldözésben egy polgári személy megsebesült.



A Reuters egyik riportere szemtanúja volt, amint páncélozott járművek és teherautók két konvoja haladt a conakry-i kikötő felé. A konvojokat mentőautónak látszó fehér jármű kísérte.



Condé elnökségének egy évtizede alatt jelentősen nőtt a bauxitban, vasércben, aranyban és gyémántban gazdag ország gazdasága, de kevés állampolgár részesült a fejlődés hasznából.



A most 83 éves Condét 2020 októberében választották meg a harmadik mandátumára. A választás alatt és után erős feszültség uralkodott a nyugat-afrikai országban, több tucatnyian haltak meg az összetűzésekben, és több tucatnyi ellenzékit vettek őrizetbe. Emberi jogi aktivisták bírálták a kormányzásban az utóbbi években bekövetkezett tekintélyelvű irányváltást.



Több évtizednyi autokrata kormányzás után, 2010-ben az egykori bebörtönzött, sőt halálra ítélt ellenzéki Condé volt az első demokratikusan megválasztott guineai elnök. Alpha Condé 2020 márciusában az élénk tiltakozás ellenére új alkotmányt fogadtatott el, amelynek célja szerinte az „intézmények korszerűsítése” volt.

A Malival határos Siguiri régióban lévő aranybánya szombaton összeomlott, az ott dolgozó bányászok azonnal életüket vesztették – közölte a terület tanácsosa.



A helyi hatóságok közleménye szerint legalább 15 ember halt meg egy földcsuszamlásban egy aranybányában Guinea északkeleti régiójában, Siguiriben, a mentők pedig vasárnap tovább folytatták a romok között a túlélők keresését.



“A Tatakourou falu közelében lévő kézműves bánya szombaton omlott össze, az ott dolgozó bányászok pedig sajnos azonnal meghaltak”– közölte Sekou Biniou Simagan helyi tanácsos.
A 15 kisipari bányász holttestét – akik mind 14 és 40 év közötti férfiak voltak – szombat estére találták meg, a temetési szertartások elvégzése után pedig tömegsírba temették őket.



Sinaman Traore, a bánya egyik aranyásója elmondta, hogy látta, amint önkéntesek mentették ki két kollégáját a romok alól.
