Egy Franciaországban élő, romániai származású férfi Londonban csaknem ötmillió euró összértékű gyémántlopást hajtott végre – jelentette a Főtér.
A lap úgy tudja, a 60 éves férfi és társai állítólag éveken keresztül tervezték a bűncselekményt. Az elkövető egyik bűntársa még 2016-ban ismerkedett a London központjában működő Boodles ékszerbolt tulajdonosával, akinek egy pénzes izraeli üzletembernek adta ki magát, aki drágakövekbe akar fektetni.
Az „üzletember” és egy másik bűntársa később Monacóban találkoztak a tulajdonossal, ahol megbeszélték, hogy hét, rendkívül értékes drágakövet szeretnének megvásárolni, amelyet azonban előbb megvizsgálna egy gyémántszakértőjük.
A „szakértőként” bemutatkozó elkövető el is kezdte „vizsgálni” a köveket, majd egy óvatlan pillanatban zsebre vágta őket, s még arra is maradt ideje, hogy közönséges kerti kavicsokat szórjon a helyükre.
Az üzlet alkalmazottainak állítólag csak másnap tűnt fel a példátlan értékű lopás, ám a rendőrség azóta sikeresen lekapcsolta a tolvajt és társait. A román férfit Franciaország kiadta az Egyesült Királyságnak.
