Az AP News értesülései szerint eddig 36 holttestet emeltek ki a romok közül, míg további két súlyosan megégett áldozat a kórházban halt bele sérüléseibe. A Reuters keddi közlése szerint a halálos áldozatok száma 39-re emelkedett. A hatóságok szerint több mint 140 ember tartózkodott az üzemben a robbanás idején, és az épület teljesen összeomlott.
„Még mindig zajlik a romok eltakarítása. Csak akkor tudjuk megállapítani, hogy maradtak-e további holttestek a törmelék alatt, ha a takarítással teljesen végeztünk” – nyilatkozta G.V. Narayana Rao, a Telangana állami tűzoltóság és katasztrófavédelmi szolgálat igazgatója.
Közel három tucat munkást szintén kórházba kellett szállítani – közölte az AP. A romok közül kiemelt testek közül 25-öt eddig nem sikerült azonosítani.
„Mivel a holttestek súlyosan megégtek és felismerhetetlenek, külön orvosi csapatot küldtünk ki DNS-vizsgálatra” – mondta Damodar Raja Narasimha egészségügyi miniszter.
A telanganai kormány vizsgálóbizottságot hozott létre az ügy kivizsgálására – tette hozzá Narasimha.
A robbanás okát egyelőre nem közölte a Sigachi Industries, de az AP és a Reuters információi szerint a cég 90 napra leállította a gyár működését, mivel a fő gyártási infrastruktúra is megsérült.
A gyár mikrokristályos cellulózt állított elő – ez egy gyógyszergyártásban használt vegyület. A vállalat saját weboldala szerint ők a világ legnagyobb mikrokristályos cellulóz gyártói közé tartoznak.
A Sigachi Industries a hétfői napon bejelentette a Bombayi Értéktőzsdén, hogy alapos helyszíni vizsgálatot fognak végezni az üzemben.

Robbanás történt egy gyógyszergyárban Budapest X. kerületében hétfő reggel. Értesülések szerint a robbanással járó detonáció során tűz keletkezett.
A Metropol arról számolt be, hogy a gyógyszergyár egyik laborjában történhetett a robbanás, melyet követően a tűzoltók és a mentők is a helyszínre érkeztek. Az értesülések szerint két ember is megsérült, őket a mentők kórházba szállították. A katasztrófavédelem százméteres sugarú körben lezárta a környéket.
Bár egyelőre nem tudni, hogy a robbanás és a tűz pontosan hol keletkezett, de a Ripost úgy értesült, hogy a Keresztúri úton lévő gyógyszergyár komplexumának egyik laborjában történhetett. A helyszínre azonnal rohantak a mentősök is, ugyanis a Ripost úgy értesült, hogy ketten megsérültek a robbanásban, őket a mentők végül kórházba vitték.

Robbanás rázott meg egy indiai gyógyszergyárat, legalább 17 ember halálát és mintegy 40 sérülését okozva – közölte csütörtökön a helyi rendőrség. A The Hindu című helyi napilap információi szerint a robbanás olyan erős volt, hogy szétszórta az emberi maradványokat a helyszínen.
A délkelet-indiai Andhra Pradesh állam Anakapalli körzetében szerda délután ütött ki a tűz. Időközben a rendőrség közlése szerint a mentési munkálatokat már befejezték, és senki sem rekedt az épületben. A robbanást a nyomozók szerint gázszivárgás okozta.
