A dél-japáni szigetek után Dél-Koreára is lecsapott hétfőn a Haisen tájfun: megrongált épületeket, elárasztott utakat, áramkimaradást okozott több ezer lakásban, és leállt miatta két atomreaktor – közölték hivatalosan.
A dél-koreai meteorológiai szolgálat nagy erejű szélre és heves esőre figyelmeztette a lakosokat. A széllökések sebessége elérheti a 126 kilométert is óránként – közölték.
A szárazföld fölött a tájfun 24 órán belül valószínűleg trópusi viharrá szelídül – tették hozzá.
A Haisen a délkeleti Ulszan kikötővárost érte el először, jelentős kárt okozott az infrastruktúrában, de más tengerparti városokban is, úgymint Puszan, Szokcso, Kangung. Több hidat és útszakaszt le kellett zárni. A déli Dzsedzsu szigeten több mint 1600 lakost biztonságosabb helyre kellett menekíteni az otthonából különböző veszélyek miatt, mint például földcsuszamlás. Áramkimaradás volt 17-18 ezer lakásban. Legalább 318 induló, illetve érkező légi járatot törölni kellett az országban a repülőtéri igazgatóságok adatai szerint.
A dél-koreai állami atomerőmű-vállalat közölte, hogy a Haisen megrongálta két tengerparti reaktor vezetékhálózatát, emiatt ezek automatikusan leálltak. Radioaktív szennyezés nem történt – tették hozzá.
A Haisen, amely kínaiul a tenger istenét jelenti, a hét végén a japáni Okinava és más déli szigeteken söpört végig. Sok helyen még hétfőre sem tudták helyreállítani a közlekedést Japánban, álltak a vonatok, nem indultak el a légi járatok.
Mijazaki prefektúrában eltűnt négy ember egy földcsuszamlásban. A japán katasztrófavédelem hétfői közlése szerint legkevesebb 20 ember megsérült, ketten közülük súlyosan, de az NHK köztévé 37 sérültről tud.
A Haisen várhatóan hétfő estére eléri Észak-Korea keleti részét, amelyet a múlt héten már sújtott a Majszak tájfun. A helyi állami média szerint az országban készültséget rendeltek el a közeledő újabb természeti csapás miatt, és arra figyelmeztették az embereket, hogy a Haisen pusztítóbb lesz a Majszaknál és az azt megelőző Bavinál is.
