A Poltavai Megyei Ügyészség tájékoztatott a november 30-án este, Karlivka városában történt tragikus közlekedési balesetről. Az ügyészség szerint a Hyundai Tucson gépkocsit, amely elütötte a két lányt, egy rendőrségi dolgozó vezette.
A nyomozás megállapította, hogy a 17 éves testvérpár az út szélén gyalogolt, amikor a sofőr elgázolta őket. A sérüléseik olyan súlyosak voltak, hogy mindketten a helyszínen életüket vesztették.
A rendőr a baleset után elmenekült, de később visszatért. Előzetes adatok szerint alkoholos befolyásoltság jeleit mutatta. A férfit jelenleg az Ukrán Büntetőeljárási Törvénykönyv 208. cikke alapján tartják fogva.
A halálos közúti baleset ügyében előzetes nyomozás indult a Büntető Törvénykönyv 286-1. cikkének 4. része szerint — ittas járművezetés miatti közlekedési szabályszegés, amely több ember halálát okozza.
A Poltavai Rendőrség belső vizsgálatot is indított.

Kravcsenko hozzátette, hogy Andrij Molocsnijt már tájékoztattáka Ukrajna Büntető Törvénykönyvének 286-1. cikkelye 3. része értelmében felmerült gyanúról – közlekedési szabályok megsértése ittas állapotban, amely személy halálához vezetett. A teszt eredménye 1,77 ppm volt.
Ragaszkodunk egy 60 napos megelőző intézkedés alkalmazásához, óvadék nélküli előzetes letartóztatás formájában. „Személyesen figyelemmel fogom kísérni az ügy fejleményeit, mint ügyész, kezdve a megelőző intézkedés kiválasztásával, és támogatni fogom a vádat a bíróságon” – biztosított a főügyész.
Gyerekeknek rendezett születésnapi ünnepségbe hajtott egy részeg sofőr az egyesült államokbeli Michigan államban lévő Berlinben szombaton.
A helyi hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint két testvér, egy 8 éves kislány és egy 5 éves kisfiú meghalt, több gyerek pedig életveszélyes állapotba került.
Rajtuk kívül még 6 felnőttet is kórházba kellett vinni.
