Az Ukrajna elleni totális agresszió során az oroszok 12 újságírót öltek meg hivatalos feladataik ellátása közben, további 26 ukrán médiaalkalmazottat pedig fogva tart igazságtalanul az agresszor ország – számolt be az rbc.ua hírportál az Európa Tanács Parlamenti Közgyűlésének (PACE) határozatára hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint a határozat szerzője, Jevhenyija Kravcsuk, az ukrán Nép Szolgája párt parlamenti képviselője megjegyezte, hogy a nagy háború alatt összesen 111 újságíró halt meg, akik közül közel százan a harcok résztvevőiként, az orosz tüzérségi támadások és kínzások következtében vesztették életüket.
A 26 illegálisan fogva tartott ukrán újságíró felét a teljes körű invázió kezdete előtt, 2016-2021 között, a másik felét pedig 2022. február 24. után tartóztatták le. Ezek konkrétan a megszállt Krímből, valamint Herszon és Zaporizzsja megyék egyes részeiről származó médiamunkások.
„Ha hiszünk a demokráciában, ha hiszünk az igazságosságban, akkor bátran kell cselekednünk, nemcsak az orosz börtönökben fogva tartott újságírók kiszabadítása érdekében, hanem azért is, hogy Ukrajna megnyerje ezt a háborút” – mondta Lord George Fawkes, Nagy-Britannia küldöttje a határozatról szóló vitában.
A küldöttek tapsoltak a nemrég szabadult ukrán újságíróknak, Vladiszlav Jeszipenkónak és Dmitro Hiljuknak is, akik jelen voltak a PACE-n. A határozat felszólítja az agresszor országot, hogy azonnal engedje szabadon az összes illegálisan fogva tartott újságírót, és adjon pontos információt hollétükről és fogva tartásuk körülményeiről.
Az Európa Tanács és az Európai Unió tagállamait arra kérik, hogy támogassák az Oroszország felelősségre vonását célzó összes mechanizmust: egy Ukrajna elleni agresszióval foglalkozó különbíróságot, a kártérítési bizottságot, a károk nyilvántartását stb. Az állásfoglalás személyes szankciók bevezetését is szorgalmazza minden orosz állampolgárral szemben, aki újságírók elleni bűncselekményekben vett részt.

A Nemzetközi Sajtóintézet (IPI) szerint legkevesebb 65 újságíró halt meg eddig a gázai háborúban az izraeli támadások kezdete óta.
A nemzetközi újságíró-szervezet keddi közlése szerint a modern kori háborús konfliktusok történetében ebben a háborúban vesztette életét a legtöbb újságíró ilyen rövid idő alatt.
Az IPI felszólította Izraelt és a nemzetközi közösséget annak biztosítására, hogy a média képviselői szabadon és biztonságosan dolgozhassanak.
Az IPI adatai szerint hatvanhat médiaszakembert öltek meg 2022-ben egész évben, 2021-ben pedig negyvenötöt.
A gázai háborút Izrael állam történetének legsúlyosabb támadása előzte meg, amikor októberben a Hamász iszlamista szervezet fegyveresei mintegy 1200 embert mészároltak le és mintegy 240 túszt a Gázai övezetbe hurcoltak.
Izrael nagyszabású légitámadásokkal és szárazföldi offenzívával válaszolt. A Hamász egészségügy-minisztériuma szerint a Gázai övezetben a háború kezdete óta 21 672 palesztin halt meg.

Életét vesztette a francia AFP hírügynökség egyik újságírója, Arman Soldin az oroszok által ostromolt Bahmut térségében kedden.
A hírügynökség a Soldint kísérő kollégái beszámolóira hivatkozva közölte, hogy a 32 éves fotóriporterrel egy Grad sorozatvetőből kilőtt rakéta végzett Csasziv Jar határában. Kísérőinek nem esett bántódásuk.
Az AFP szerint a francia újságírók csoportja ukrán katonákkal volt a támadás idején.
Soldin Ukrajnában 2022 szeptembere óta a videófelvételek koordinátoraként dolgozott. A francia hírügynökség a Twitteren részvétét nyilvánította Soldin hozzátartozóinak.

A szélsőséges nézeteiről ismert férfi halálát balesetként vagy öngyilkosságként kezeli a rendőrség.
Kizuhant egy emeleti ablakon Jegor Proszvirnyin orosz újságíró, akinek neve az Oroszországban blokkolt „Szputnyik és Pogrom” projekt alapítójaként vált ismertté. A 35 éves férfi még a mentő kiérkezése előtt életét vesztette, szemtanúk szerint pedig kezében kés volt, nem messze tőle pedig egy paprika-spray hevert.
Az újságíró holttestét rokonok azonosították, a rendőrség pedig öngyilkosságként vagy balesetként kezeli az ügyet. Felmerült, hogy az áldozat kábítószer hatása alatt állt vagy ittas lehetett a történtek ideje alatt – számolt be a News Read Online.
Egy állítólag Proszvirnin által írt búcsúlevél is terjedni kezdett az interneten, amiben bocsánatot kér barátaitól és feleségétől, de ez az elhunyt özvegye szerint hamisítvány lehet. Információk szerint halálra reggelén az újságíró összeveszett a feleségével, Twitter bejegyzésében pedig arról ír, hat éve először fordult meg a fejében, hogy biztosan együtt kell-e felnevelniük gyermekeiket.
A Proszvirnyin által alapított Szputnyik és Pogrom projekt éveken át az egyik fő nacionalista forrás volt az országban. Eredetileg a VKontakte csoportjaként kezdte meg működését 2012-ben, később pedig külön portállá vált, ami történelmi eseményekről és etnikai konfliktusokról szóló hosszú cikkeket osztott meg az orosz nacionalistákkal.
Az oldalt többször érte vád szélsőséges nézetei miatt, 2015-ben eljárás is indult ellene gyűlöletre vagy ellenségeskedésre való uszítás miatt, ez azonban eredménytelenül zárult. 2017-ben a Roszkomnadzor adta hozzá a Szputnyik és Pogromot a blokkolt források listájához etnikai és vallási gyűlölet eszméjének propagandája miatt.
