Harci kakas ölte meg a Fülöp-szigeteki San José rendőrfönökét egy razzia során – írja a hatóságok keddi bejelentése alapján az AFP. Christian Bolok a combján sebesült meg és elvérzett.
A cikk megjegyzi, hogy a kakasviadal igen népszerű sport az országban: a két pengékkel felfegyverzett állat általában halálos kimenetelű összecsapására fogadásokat is kötnek. A koronavírus miatt azonban – más sporteseményekhez hasonlóan – az országban a kakasviadalokat is betiltották, hogy megakadályozzák, hogy nagyobb tömegek verődjenek össze.
Egy ilyen illegálisan szervezett viadalon ütött rajta a rendőrség San José-ban hétfőn, Christian Bolok pedig a razzia során felvett egy harci kakast, hogy bizonyítékokat gyűjtsön. Az állat azonban a rászerelt pengével megvágta a férfit, és pont eltalálta a combjában lévő artériát.
Nem hittem el, amikor először jelentették. 25 éves pályafutásom alatt még egyszer sem fordult elő, hogy egy rendőrt egy harci kakas ölt volna meg – mondta az esettel kapcsolatban a tartományi rendőrfőnök.
A rajtaütés után három embert letartóztattak, két kakast pedig lefoglaltak a hatóságok.
