A Szövetségi Légiközlekedési Hatóság (FAA) szerint a helikopteren két ember utazott, amikor a baleset történt.

Jurij Daskin orosz légvédelmi hadosztályparancsnok a Rosszija 24 tévécsatornán vasárnap azt mondta, hogy Vlagyimir Putyin elnök helikoptere a kurszki régióba tett keddi látogatása során gyakorlatilag ukrán drónok összpontosított támadásának „epicentrumába került”.
Daskin szerint a támadást sikeresen visszaverték, az államfő biztonságát teljes mértékben biztosították. A parancsnok példátlannak nevezte a támadást, elmondása szerint a légvédelem 46 drónt semmisített meg. A légvédelmi egységeknek egyszerre kellett ellátniuk védelmi feladatokat, valamint biztosítani az elnök gépének légterét.
Azt is közölte, hogy az oroszok 1177 nagy hatótávolságú ukrán drónt semmisítettek meg három nap alatt.
A Kreml korábbi beszámolója szerint Putyin a kurszki Kurcsatovba utazott, ami alig 100 kilométerre található az ukrán határtól, hogy meglátogasson egy építés alatt álló atomerőművet.
Az orosz vezető most először látogatott a Kurszki régióba azt követően, hogy az orosz hadsereg a múlt hónapban kiszorította az ukrán egységeket a térségből.
Jaroszlav Jakimkin az orosz Észak hadseregcsoportosítás sajtóközpontjának vezetője a Telegram-csatornáján közölte, hogy az orosz hadsereg Kurszk megye felszabadítását követően megkezdte a biztonsági zóna kialakítását az államhatár mentén.

Két ukrán Mi–8-as helikopter lezuhant egy harci küldetés során Donyeck térségében, korábban 6 halottról szóltak a hírek, de ezt az információt pontosítani kell – jelentette ki csütörtökön Ilja Jevlas, az ukrán fegyveres erők Kelet hadműveleti csoportjának sajtószóvivője az rbc.ua hírportálnak nyilatkozva.
A sajtószóvivő elmondása szerint a tragédia a Kramatorszki járásban történt, de az ok ismeretlen. Vannak azonban információk, hogy abban az időben felszállt egy orosz SZU–35-ös vadászgép felszállt, és ukrán helikopterek leszálláshoz készültek – tette hozzá, megjegyezve, hogy ez az esetleges támadás elleni védelem érdekében történik.
„Igen, valóban volt egy légi szerencsétlenség két Mi–8-as helikopter részvételével. Harci küldetést teljesítettek. Mikor a feladatot végrehajtották, egy ellenséges SZU–35-ös vadászgép volt a levegőben” – ismertette Jevlas.
A szóvivő ugyanakkor hangsúlyozta, hogy a halottak számára vonatkozó adatok még pontosításra szorulnak. „De a 18. különálló hadsereg repülődandárja sajtószolgálatának vezetője már arról számolt be, hogy hat halott van. A nyomozók jelenleg vizsgálják annak részleteit és körülményeit, hogy pontosan mi okozta a légi szerencsétlenséget. A bizottság jelenleg dolgozik. Hogy mi okozta ezt a katasztrófát, az később derül majd ki” – emlékeztetett Ilja Jevlas.

Lezuhant egy Mi-28N típusú orosz katonai helikopter az Ukrajnától 2014-ben elcsatolt Krím félszigeten, mindkét pilóta életét vesztette – közölte pénteken az orosz védelmi minisztérium.
A tárca szerint a baleset kiképzési repülés közben történt a Dzsankoji járásban. A járművön nem volt lőszer, a földön nem keletkezett kár. A minisztérium az Éjszakai Vadász (NATO-jelölés szerint Havoc-B) helikopter szerencsétlensége legvalószínűbb okaként a műszaki hibát nevezte meg.
Az orosz légi- és űrerők főparancsnoksága vizsgálóbizottságot küldött a helyszínre, hogy tisztázza a baleset körülményeit.
