A túrázók szombat reggel indultak el, hogy megmásszák a Helmosz-hegységet, ám soha nem térhettek már haza.
Három halott hegymászot találtak vasárnap este a népszerű görög sítelep, Kalavrita közelében – közölte a helyi tűzoltóság. Az egyik görög hírügynökség szerint a negyvenes-ötvenes éveikben járó görög állampolgároknak szombaton veszett nyomuk, amikor elindultak megmászni egy 2355 méteres Helmosz-hegységben.
Miután nem érkezett a hegymászók felől hír, a tűzoltók a keresésükre indultak, vasárnap hosszú órákon át, helikopterek segítségével kutattak a hegységben.
Végül az egyik helikopterből észrevették a hegymászók felszerelését a hóban, majd utána a holttestekre is rábukkantak. A hatóságok vizsgálatot indítottak az ügyben. Azt gyanítják, hogy halálukat lavina okozhatta – írta az ATV.
