2023. április 1-ről 2-re virradó éjszaka ismeretlen tettesek vörös festékkel leöntötték a lódzi érseki bazilika előtti székesegyházi téren álló II. Szent János Pál pápa szobrot – jelentette közösségi oldalán a lódzi katolikus egyház.
A Szentatya arcát sárga fluoreszkáló festékkel festették le, a talapzaton, amelyen a pápa alakja áll, pedig három maxima culpa (legnagyobb vétek) felirat volt olvasható.
Az eset elkövetőinek felkutatása folyamatban van – tették hozzá.
II. János Pál pápa épp 18 éve, 2005. április 2-án halt meg, ebből az alkalomból a téren ünnepi körmenetet tartanak délután, addig pedig igyekeznek letakarítani a szoborról a festéket. A város közösségi oldalán a vezető képviselők is felszólaltak:
Bármit is gondoljunk a pápáról, a vandalizmus soha nem megoldás. Nehéz szavakat találni az ilyen viselkedésre valaki halálának évfordulóján.
Lengyelországban nagy felháborodás lett úrrá, miután II. János Pál pápáról egy nemrég bemutatott dokumentumfilm szerint tudott arról, hogy papok gyermekeket zaklattak, és segített az ügyek eltussolásában.

Abortuszpárti tüntetők festékkel öntötték le, szalagokkal, transzparensekkel és vállfákkal aggatták tele Szent II. János Pál pápa szobrát a lengyelországi Poznanban vasárnap este. Az elmúlt napokban több hasonló provokáció is történt a katolikus közösség ellen – számolt be róla a V4 Agency.
A lengyel alkotmánybíróság új határozatában szigorított az abortuszra vonatkozó követelményeken, ami országszerte tömeges demonstrációkat váltott ki a baloldali aktivisták körében. A szombati, varsói tüntetés után vasárnap Poznanban is demonstrációt szerveztek, a rendőrség adatai szerint mintegy hétezer, a szervezők szerint húszezer ember vett részt a megmozduláson.
Meg akarták zavarni a szentmisét
Lengyel sajtóbeszámolók szerint a szervezők arra készültek, hogy megzavarják az esti szentmisét a poznani székesegyházban, ahogy ezt szombaton is tették a fővárosban. A tömeg vulgáris szlogeneket skandálva vonult végig Poznan utcáin a templomig, ahol azonban nem tartottak misét, a székesegyház bejáratát pedig lovas rendőrök védték. A tüntetők ezután a kormánypárt, a PiS székháza elé vonultak, miközben az „én testem, az én dolgom”, „hagyják békén a méhemet”, „ez háború” és hasonló szlogeneket skandáltak. De vulgáris kormány- és PiS-ellenes kiáltások is elhangzottak.
Provokálják a katolikus közösséget
A felvonulók megrongálták II. János Pál pápa szobrát is. A lengyel származású volt pápát a katolikusok szentként tisztelik, így a szoborrongálás egy újabb provokáció az egyházzal és a katolikus közösséggel szemben.
A trágárság, a templomok és műemlékek rongálása nem a párbeszéd útja – fogalmazott Jadwiga Emilewicz volt miniszterelnök-helyettes közösségi oldalán a szobor meggyalázásával kapcsolatban.
Vörös festékkel fújták le az emlékművet
Az elmúlt napokban több helyen rongálták meg II. János Pál emlékműveit Lengyelország-szerte. Szombat éjjel egy kisváros parkjában vörös festékkel fújták le a volt pápát ábrázoló szobor kezeit. Az emlékművet hamar megtisztították, a rendőrség nyomoz az ügyben. Egy Varsótól északra fekvő településen plakátokat ragasztottak fel egy II. János Pált ábrázoló szoborra, Krakkóban pedig a pápa életéről szóló plakátkiállítást firkálták össze.
Morális barbárság
Így küzdenek a szélsőbaloldali milíciák a jogaikért – a tönkretett Szent II. János Pál kiállítás a krakkói Plantach parkban csak egy újabb durva és vulgáris tett az akciójuk során, amit ők spontán sétának neveznek – írta Dariusz Matecki, szcezini képviselő közösségi oldalán a rongálásra reagálva. A politikus hozzátette, a firkálás egyszerű bűncselekmény, és természetesen „morális barbárság”.

Ellopták az olaszországi Spoleto székesegyházának templomából azt az ereklyetartót, amelyben II. János Pál pápa néhány vércseppje volt.
Renato Boccardo érsek videóüzenetben kérte a tolvajokat, hogy adják vissza az ereklyetartót. „Remélem, hogy az elkövetőket a tudatlanság vezette, és nem akarták megsérteni a hívőket. Azt is remélem, hogy nem haszonlesésből történt a lopás” – fogalmazott. A rendőrség nagy erőkkel nyomoz.
Sajtóértesülések szerint az ereklyetartót a spoletói dóm egyik oldalsó kápolnájában őrizték. A lopást a templomőr vette részét. A székesegyháznak ezen a részén nem volt riasztó, a tolvajok átugrották a kápolnát lezáró rácsot.
A vért a pápa egykori személyi titkára, Stanislaw Dziwisz bíboros, nyugalmazott krakkói érsek adományozta Spoleto és Norcia közös egyházmegyéjének 2016-ban.
