Kitört kedden az Indonézia keleti részén, a Flores szigetén található Lewotobi Laki-Laki vulkán, amely az indonéz vulkanológiai központ (PVMBG) közlése szerint 10 kilométeres hamufelhőt lövellt ki magából.
A hatóságok azt tanácsolták a lakosoknak és a környékre látogatóknak, hogy a kráter két kilométeres körzetét kerüljék el. Az 1584 méter magas Lewotobi Laki-Laki vulkán tavaly novemberben tört ki utoljára, a természeti katasztrófának akkor tíz halálos áldozata volt és több ezer embert kellett kitelepíteni.
A mostani kitöréssel összefüggésben egyelőre nem jelentettek sem áldozatokat, sem károkat.
Indonézia a csendes-óceáni tűzgyűrű részeként a világ egyik legaktívabb vulkáni övezete. Az országban több mint 120 aktív vulkán van, amelyek rendszeresen produkálnak kisebb-nagyobb kitöréseket.

Legkevesebb hét ember életét vesztette, tizenketten pedig megsérültek egy Nyugat-Jáva tartománybeli kőbányában bekövetkezett omlás miatt – közölték pénteken az indonéziai hatóságok.
A súlyos baleset a Gunung Kuda bányában történt a Cirebon régióbeli Bobos faluban – tájékoztatott Mamang Fatmono, a tartomány kutató- és mentőcsoportjának vezetője.
A helyi illetékesek tájékoztatása szerint a bányaomlás bekövetkeztekor számos ember dolgozott a bányában.
Fatmono közlése szerint hét holttestet találtak a helyszínen, 12 sérültet a régió egyik kórházába szállítottak, három eltűnt ember után pedig még folyik a kutatás – írja az MTI.
Hozzáfűzte, hogy a mentésben csoportjának tíz tagja, emellett rendőrök, katonák és önkéntesek is részt vesznek.
Dedi Mulyadi, Nyugat-Jáva kormányzója a helyi médiának elmondta: félő, hogy a bányaszerencsétlenség áldozatainak száma tovább emelkedhet.
