Tétlenségével és határozatlanságával a cseh kormány rendkívül nehéz helyzetbe hozta Csehországot, a terhek elsősorban a lakosságot sújtják – jelentette ki Josef Stredula, a Cseh-morva Szakszervezetek Konföderációjának (CMKOS) elnöke a szombati kormányellenes tüntetésen.
A „Tizenkettő után öt perccel” jelszó alatt megtartott prágai tüntetésen Josef Stredula azt mondta: az Európai Unión belül Csehországban van az egyik legmagasabb infláció, minek következtében gyorsan romlik a cseh háztartások vásárlóértéke, és a cseh cégek kezdik elveszíteni versenyképességüket.
A rendezvény szónokai felszólították a kormányt: késlekedés nélkül hozzon határozott intézkedéseket a lakosság elszegényedésének megakadályozására.
A szakszervezetek azt szeretnék elérni, hogy a kormány vezessen be maximális árat az alapvető élelmiszerekre, az áramra, a földgázra, az üzemanyagokra és a lakbérekre, és általában szigorítsa meg az árellenőrzéseket.
„Követeljük, hogy a kormány belátható időn belül dolgozzon ki egy válságellenes tervet, amely a jövőben megtartaná a mai szinten a bérek vásárlóértékét, és gazdasági növekedést ösztönző intézkedéseket tartalmazna” – összegezte a szakszervezetek követeléseit Josef Stredula, aki a közelmúltban jelentette be, hogy indulni fog a januári államfőválasztáson.
A szakszervezeti tüntetést két parlamenten kívül párt, a szociáldemokraták és a kommunisták is támogatták. A rendezők a résztvevők számát 40 ezerre becsülték, míg a rendőrség szerint a Vencel téren ezúttal mintegy 25-30 ezer ember volt jelen.
Prágában szeptember elseje óta ez már a harmadik több tízezres kormányellenes tüntetés. Eltérően a korábbi két megmozdulástól, politikai követelések most nem voltak napirenden. Korábban a szociális követelések mellett azt is hangoztatták, hogy mondjon le a kormány, Csehország lépjen ki a NATO-ból, az Európai Unióból, az ENSZ-ből, és hagyjon fel az ukrajnai menekülteknek nyújtott „mértéktelen” segélyekkel. Követelték továbbá, hogy a cseh gazdaság szabaduljon meg a külföldi függőségtől, az ország legyen semleges, és a kormány állapodjon meg közvetlenül Moszkvával az orosz gáz behozataláról.

A cseh szakszervezetek hétfőn az energia- és élelmiszerárak emelkedése elleni tömegdemonstrációra szólítottak fel, valamint jelentős béremeléseket is követeltek.
A válság fokozódásával párhuzamosan egyre nagyobb nyomás nehezedik a cseh jobbközép kormányra, hogy tegyen többet a megfékezése érdekében – írja a Reuters. Mivel jelentősen csökkent az Oroszországból érkező gázszállítás, a gáz ára megemelkedett, emiatt pedig az európai közüzemi számlák végösszege is.
Csehország lakosságának a helyzetét tovább nehezíti az is, hogy három évtizedes csúcsot ért el a cseh infláció, ami az Európai Unió negyedik legmagasabbja. Szombat délután tízezrek követelték Prágában a Petr Fiala miniszterelnök vezette jobboldali ötpárti kormány lemondását. A felszólalók többek között azt bírálták, hogy a kormány fegyverekkel támogatja Ukrajnát, miközben a cseh lakosság érdekeit elhanyagolja. Többen voltak olyanok is, akik egyenesen Putyin rendszerét éltető transzparensekkel érkeztek.
A tüntetésen részt vevők számát a rendőrség 70 ezerre becsülte, a rendezők szerint viszont százezernél sokkal többen voltak a Vencel téren. A szakszervezeti csoportok október nyolcadikára szerveztek egy megmozdulást, amely azt bizonyítja, hogy az ötpárti koalícióval szembeni elégedetlenség jóval szélesebb.
Nem vagyunk elégedettek a jelenlegi helyzettel. Mi nem vagyunk szélsőségesek, vagy bármi ilyesmi, mi olyan emberek vagyunk, akik féltik a jövőjüket – nyilatkozta Josef Stredula, a Cseh-Morva Szakszervezeti Szövetség vezetője. A második negyedévben 9,8 százalékkal csökkentek a cseh bérek az előző évhez képest, aminek legfőképpen az infláció az oka. Az emelkedő rezsiszámlák miatt a háztartások spórolásba kezdtek, ami a cseh gazdaság recesszióját okozhatja.

Több mint 115 ezren sztrájkoltak pénteken a brit királyi postánál – írta meg a Reuters. A megélhetési költségek és a rezsiszámlák összegeinek növekedése miatt a munkások magasabb fizetést követelnek, ráadásul a hírek szerint az infláció az év végéig elérheti a 13 százalékot. A Communication Workers Union szerint a postások sztrájkja a legnagyobb munkabeszüntetés az idei nyári hullám során.
Keményen fogunk harcolni a jól megérdemelt béremelését – mondta a szakszervezet főtitkára, Dave Ward a Sky Newsnak.
A postahivatal 5,5 százalékos fizetésemelést ajánlott fel a szakszervezet tagjainak, amely évek óta a legnagyobb mértékű emelés lenne. A szakszervezet szerint ez nem igaz, 2 százalékot ajánlottak, amelyet további feltételekkel 1,5 százalékkal toldanának meg.
Az évszázados hagyományokkal rendelkező brit posta elnézést kért a lakosságtól a levelek és csomagok fennakadásáért, és elmondták: hiába dolgoztak ki készenléti tervet, teljesen nem tudták pótolni a frontvonalban dolgozókat a sztrájk idejére.
A postások augusztus 31-ére, valamint szeptember 8-ára és 9-ére is sztrájkot hirdettek.
A postahivatal vezérigazgatója, Simon Thompson elmondta: változtatniuk kell, mert a posta már több csomagot kézbesít, mint levelet, és a csomagküldő cégek között nagy a verseny. Thompson azt is elmondta: szeretnének többet fizetni az alkalmazottaiknak.

A helyi sajtó szórványos összecsapásokról is beszámolt a biztonsági erők és a tüntetők között, akik az Isztambul szívében található Taksim térre próbáltak eljutni.
A török rendőrség 164 tüntetőt állított elő vasárnap Isztambulban egy hatóságilag nem engedélyezett, május elsejei megmozduláson – közölte a török nagyváros kormányzói hivatala. A tájékoztatás szerint az aktivisták a hatósági figyelmeztetések ellenére vettek részt a tüntetésen.
A török hatóságok a korábbi évek gyakorlatának megfelelően lezárták a sokak számára szimbolikus jelentőségű teret, a szakszervezetek képviselőinek mindössze egyetlen koszorú elhelyezését hagyták jóvá.
A 2013-ban erőszakba torkollt isztambuli Gezi parki tüntetések óta a kormány nem engedélyezi a május elsejei tüntetéseket a Taksim téren.
A 2013-as tüntetés a terület átépítése elleni tiltakozással kezdődött, de a környezetvédő aktivisták szembeszegülése a Taksim téren csakhamar kormányellenes megmozdulássá változott, miután a rendőrség erőszakkal próbálta feloszlatni a tömeget.
1977. május elsején orvlövészek ezen a téren nyitottak tüzet egy félmilliós tömegre, harmincnégy ember életét kioltva. Az elkövetők kiléte máig nem ismert.
Idén Isztambul kisázsiai részén számos ember gyűlt össze a munka ünnepe alkalmából. Megmozdulások voltak Ankarában, Izmirben és más török nagyvárosokban is.
A megmozdulásokon felszólalók leginkább Törökország gazdasági válságával és a hivatalosan 60 százalékot is meghaladó inflációval foglalkoztak.

Ezrek tüntettek szombaton Athénban a szakszervezetek felhívására a magas megélhetési költségek miatt.
A görög fővárosban a parlament épülete előtt gyülekeztek a PAME szakszervezet felhívására a demonstrálók, hogy tiltakozzanak az infláció, a rosszabbodó életkörülmények és az új munkaügyi törvény ellen.
Januárban az árak 6,2 százalékkal voltak magasabbak, mint az előző év januárjában, és az áremelkedés az ukrajnai háború miatt várhatóan tovább folytatódik.
Hivatalos adatok szerint az elektromos áram árai januárban 56 százalékkal nőttek, az üzemanyagoké 21,6 százalékkal, a földgázé pedig 156 százalékkal emelkedett.
A konzervatív kormány segítséget ígért a legrászorultabbaknak, valamint kilátásba helyezte a jelenlegi mintegy 650 eurós havi minimálbér megemelését. Krisztosz Sztaikúrasz pénzügyminiszter péntek este kijelentette, hogy Görögország idő előtt visszafizeti a Nemzetközi Valutalap kölcsönét és az így megtakarított kamatokat a háztartások és a vállalatok megsegítésére fordítják.
Görögországot, ahol a munkanélküliség 13 százalékos – az egyik legmagasabb az euróövezetben –, még mindig sújtja a 2010-2018 közötti pénzügyi válság súlyos öröksége. Az Európai Unióban a szegények arányát tekintve a harmadik helyen áll Bulgária és Románia mögött, 2020. évi hivatalos adatok szerint a lakosság egynegyedét (28,9 százalékát) fenyegeti szegénység. A koronavírus-világjárvány súlyos csapást mért a görög gazdaságra, a GDP egynegyedével csökkent, visszaestek a bérek és a jövedelmek.
A gazdaság mintegy egynegyedét kitevő turizmus újbóli fellendülésének – amely tavaly több mint tízmilliárd eurós bevételt jelentett a költségvetésnek – és az Európai Unió támogatásainak köszönhetően az ország 2021-ben visszanyerte veszteségei egy részét. A bruttó hazai össztermék, amely az előrejelzések szerint 6 százalékos volt 2021-ben, idén a 4,5 százalékot is elérheti a két évvel korábbi 9 százalékos visszaesés után.
Az államadósság szintén csökkenőben van: míg 2021-en a GDP 197,1,0 2020-ban pedig 206,3 százaléka volt, idén várhatóan 189,6 százalékra csökkent.
