Az iraki kormány elkötelezett amellett, hogy azonosítsa azt a több ezer áldozatot, akik az Iszlám Államhoz köthető tömegsírban nyugszanak – közölte Bászim el-Avádi kormányszóvivő.
Moszul déli részén, el-Haszfában vasárnap kezdődött meg a hatóságok becslései szerint akár 20 ezer áldozatot is magában rejtő tömegsír feltárása. A kormányszóvivő kijelentette, hogy minden technikai és jogi intézkedést megtesznek az áldozatok azonosítása, jogaik védelme és hozzátartozóik támogatása érdekében. Avádi hangsúlyozta, hogy dokumentálják és a világ tudomására fogják hozni a terroristák bűncselekményeit és azok mértékét. Elmondta, hogy még évekkel az Iszlám Állam 2017. decemberi leverése óta is folyamatosan kerülnek elő bűntetteik bizonyítékai.

Mohammed el-Mijáhi – akit az INA iraki hírügynökség idézett – elmondta, hogy a szerda éjjel történt tűzesetet a kormányzóság székhelyéről, a Bagdadtól mintegy 160 kilométerre délkeletre lévő Kút városából jelentették, hozzátéve, hogy sok sérültről is tudni.
Bár a tűz keletkezésének oka egyelőre ismeretlen, Mijáhi elmondta, hogy az épület és a bevásárlóközpont tulajdonosa ellen eljárás indult, hozzátéve, hogy az ügyben várhatóan 48 órán belül tesznek közzé további információkat. Mint mondta,
a hatóságok ellenőrizni fogják a gazdasági és kereskedelmi létesítmények biztonsági előírásait és határozott fellépést helyezett kilátásba az előírásokat megszegők ellen.
Sajtóértesülések szerint a bevásárlóközpontot alig öt nappal korábban nyitották meg a nagyközönség számára. Irakban gyakoriak az ilyen jellegű tűzesetek, elsősorban a karbantartás hiánya, illetve az országban több évtizeden át dúló belháborúk során tönkrement infrastruktúra miatt. Irakban több mint 100 kurd nő és gyermek maradványait exhumálják egy tömegsírból, akik valószínűleg a 1980-as években, Saddam Hussein uralkodása alatt vesztek életüket. A sírt az iraki Muthanna tartományban találták meg. Az exhumálás tavaly december óta folyik. A sírban női és gyermeki maradványokat találtak, akik kurd tavaszi öltözéket viseltek.
A második tömegsír nem messze található a Nugrat al-Salman börtöntől, amelyben politikai foglyokat tartottak fogva Saddam Hussein idején. A szakértők megjegyzik, hogy egyes maradványok összekeveredtek, mivel néhány anya haláluk idején gyermeküket ölelte.

Kurd célpontokat támadtak a török erők csütörtök éjjel Szíriában és Irakban, megtorlásképpen az előző nap Ankarában elkövetett merényletért – közölte a török állami hírügynökség a hadseregtől származó információk alapján. Az Emberi Jogok Szíriai Megfigyelőközpontja (OSDH) és a szíriai kurd erők pénteki közlése szerint Észak-Szíriában számos polgári személy is meghalt a merénylet óta végrehajtott támadásokban.
Az Anadolu hírügynökség biztonsági tisztviselőket idézett, akik elmondták, hogy az újabb csapásokat elsősorban drónokkal hajtották végre, a terrorszervezetnek nyilvánított Kurdisztáni Munkáspárthoz (PKK) tartozó „stratégiai célpontok”, így lőszerraktárak, katonai célpontok és infrastrukturális létesítmények ellen.
Szerdán a TUSAS török repülőgépgyártó vállalat ankarai székhelyénél követtek el merényletet, amelyben öten meghaltak és 22-en megsebesültek. A török kormány csütörtökön úgy nyilatkozott, hogy a szomszédos országokban is jelen lévő PKK áll a terrortámadás mögött.
Yasar Güler török védelmi miniszter csütörtökön azt közölte, hogy a csapások első hullámában 47 célpontot semmisítettek meg, 29-et Irakban és 18-at Szíriában. Hozzátette, hogy folytatják a támadásokat, amelyek célja, hogy „az utolsó szálig felszámolják a Törökország biztonságát fenyegető terroristák csoportjait”.
Az amerikai támogatást élvező szíriai kurd erők arról számoltak be, hogy az országban 12 civil esett áldozatul a török csapásoknak, 25-en megsebesültek. Az OSDH 27 halálos áldozatról tud. A török hatóságok részről „számos terrorista semlegesítéséről” tettek említést.

Ismeretlenek megtámadtak Irakban amerikai érdekeltségű gyorséttermeket és más vállalkozásokat feltehetőleg amiatt, hogy az Egyesült Államok támogatja Izraelt a Hamász palesztin iszlamista szervezet elleni háborújában – közölték csütörtökön helyi biztonsági források és szemtanúk.
A fővárosban, Bagdadban a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) gyorsétteremlánc legalább három falatozóját érte anyagi károkkal járó támadás az utóbbi napokban. A cég egyelőre nem reagált az ügyben.
Csütörtökön ismeretlenek egy villanógránátot dobtak a szintén amerikai, főleg munkagépeket gyártó Caterpillar cég helyi irodájába – közölte az iraki hadsereg sajtószolgálata.
Egy másik villanógránát a British Council brit nyelvi intézet épülete előtt robbant fel.
Az utóbbi két esetben nem történt sem anyagi kár, sem sebesülés.
Egyelőre senki sem jelentkezett a támadások elkövetőjeként. A gyanú azonban az országban nagy befolyással bíró, Irán hátszelét élvező síita milíciákra terelődik. E fegyveres csoportok a gázai övezeti háború kirobbanása óta több mint 150 támadást követtek el drónokkal vagy rakétákkal mindenekelőtt az amerikai csapatok vagy a velük szövetséges erők ellen Irakban, illetve a szomszédos Szíriában.
Moktada asz-Szadr síita hitszónok kedden az amerikai nagykövet kiutasítását és az Egyesült Államok diplomáciai képviseletének bezáratását követelte.
Az arab világ egy részén a gázai övezeti háború kezdete után bojkottálni kezdték az amerikai vagy európai székhelyű cégeket feltételezett izraeli kapcsolataik miatt. Ezek a kampányok bizonyos szempontokból túlmutatnak a Bojkott, Tőkekivonás, Szankciók (BDS) elnevezésű Izrael-ellenes mozgalom törekvésein is. A BDS évek óta Izrael és az izraeli termékek bojkottjára szólít fel az ottani hatóságok palesztinokkal szembeni bánásmódja miatt.

Az államfő bejegyzésében arról is írt, hogy a támadás fennakadást okozott a helyi áramszolgáltatásban. Az üzemeltetők közlése szerint 2500 megawattal csökkent az áramtermelés.
Az iraki kurdisztáni miniszterelnök tanácsadója a Reuters hírügynökséget arról tájékoztatta, hogy négy külföldi munkás halt meg a dróntámadásban. A kurd regionális kormány közleménye szerint a halálos áldozatok Jemenből érkeztek.
Irak két legnagyobb földgázmezője, a Khor Mor és a Chemchemal kitermelési jogaival a Pearl konzorcium rendelkezik, amelyhez az Egyesült Arab Emírségekben bejegyzett Crescent Petroleum és a Dana Gas PJSC tartozik.
A dróntámadást egyelőre senki sem vállalta magára.

„Az iraki Kurdisztán régióban a Moszad egyik fő kémközpontját ballisztikus rakétákkal megsemmisítették” – áll a gárdisták közleményében. A közlemény hozzátette, a Fateh-110-es rakéták kilövése része annak a bosszúhadjáratnak, amely az iráni gárdatagok szíriai meggyilkolását követi.
„Biztosítjuk nemzetünket, hogy a gárdisták támadó műveletei folytatódni fognak” – áll a gárdisták közleményében.
Az Erbílre kilőtt rakéták az amerikai konzulátus közelében lévő gazdag negyedben csapódtak be. A kurd regionális kormány biztonsági tanácsa szerint a támadásnak négy polgári halálos áldozata és hat sebesültje volt.
Matthew Miller amerikai külügyminisztériumi szóvivő hangsúlyozta, hogy az Egyesült Államok határozottan elítéli az Erbíl elleni iráni rakétatámadást.
Egy név nélkül nyilatkozó amerikai védelmi illetékes közölte, hogy az amerikai erők követték a rakétákat, amelyek Észak-Irakban és Észak-Szíriában csapódtak be, és a támadások nem tettek kárt amerikai létesítményekben.
„Egy rakéta egy magas rangú kurd hírszerzési tisztviselő házára, egy másik pedig egy kurd hírszerzési központra esett” – közölték a biztonsági források.
