Legalább 21 ember halálát okozták a hirtelen jött áradások Irán déli Fars tartományában – közölte szombaton az állami televízió.
Esztabal város kormányzója szerint a heves esőzések hirtelen duzzasztották fel a város melletti folyót. A mentőcsapatok 55 embert meg tudtak meneteni, de legalább hatot eltűntként tartanak nyilván.
Az országban egyre gyakoribbak a heves esőzések, miközben az éghajlatváltozás miatt komoly szárazság sújtja az országot. A hirtelen áradások veszélyét az is fokozza, hogy sokan építkeznek túl közel a folyómedrekhez.
Eddig 55 embert mentettek ki az áradásból, amely 15 autót sodort víz alá. Sok az eltűnt. A tartományi hatóságok közlése szerint 55 mentőcsapat dolgozik az eltűntek keresésén és a károk elhárításán – írja a Reuters.
