Hozzátette, hogy a magyar külképviseletek folyamatosan kapcsolatban vannak az olasz hatóságokkal, akik korábban felhívták a figyelmet egy üresen álló magyar autóra, amely a katasztrófa helyszínéhez közel parkolt. Kiderült azonban, hogy a sofőr és utasai is jól vannak. A vasárnapi jégcsuszamlásnak eddig hét halálos áldozata van. Nyolcan megsérültek, tizenhárom embert még keresnek – hangzott el az M1 Híradó műsorában.
A gleccseromlás pillanatát a szomszédos hegyen kirándulók lencsevégre kapták. Az amatőr felvételen látszik, ahogy az olasz Alpok legmagasabb hegycsoportjának, a Marmoládának az északi oldalán leszakad egy hatalmas jégdarab, és mintegy 300 kilométer/órás sebességgel megindul lefelé, az alatta húzódó turistaút irányába. A jégomlás fél kilométeren át mindent letarolt, ami az útjába került.
Egy másik felvételen azt örökítették meg, ahogy a jég és kőlavina betemeti a hegyre felvezető turistaösvényt. A tragédia napján, vasárnap kiváló kirándulóidő volt a Dolomitokban, a hegy alatti parkoló tele volt autókkal, a gleccserre vezető turistaúton száznál is többen lehettek, amikor leszakadt a hegy.
Az olasz hegyimentők helikopterekkel, drónokkal és kutyás keresőkkel érkeztek a helyszínre, és azonnal megkezdték a túlélők utáni keresést.
„A hegyimentő szolgálat fél kettőkor értesített bennünket arról, hogy leomlott a gleccser. Valójában a Marmolada csúcsa omlott le, ami egy óriási gleccseroszlop volt. Az omlás elsodort minden mászót, aki akkor a gleccseren tartózkodott. Amikor odaértünk, elképesztő pusztítás nyomait láttuk a hegyen, jégtömbök és hatalmas szikladarabok voltak mindenütt. Azonnal elkezdtük keresni a túlélőket. Az első áldozatokat még azelőtt megtaláltuk, hogy a többi mentő megérkezett volna” – mondta az egyik hegyimentő.
Hét halottat és tizenhárom sérültet találtak a Marmoladára felvezető úton, de tizenhárom emberről még mindig nem tudnak semmit.
Az olasz hatóságokat eddig három csehországi család értesítette, hogy nem kaptak hírt a környéken kiránduló rokonaikról. A hegy alatti parkolóban már csak négy gazdátlan autó maradt: két cseh, egy német és egy magyar rendszámú jármű. Azt egyelőre nem tudják, hogy a tulajdonosaik is az eltűntek között vannak-e. Az olasz hatóságok korábban már felhívták a figyelmet az üresen álló magyar autóra, amely a katasztrófa helyszínéhez közel parkolt. Azóta kiderült, hogy a sofőr és utasai is jól vannak.
Mario Draghi olasz miniszterelnök is a helyszínre utazott.
„Azért jöttem személyesen Canazeibe, hogy jobban megértsem, mi vezetett ehhez a tragédiához. Találkoztam a mentést irányítókkal is, és áttekintettük a további teendőket. De legfőképpen azért vagyok itt, hogy kifejezzem a legőszintébb együttérzésemet az elhunytak, az eltűntek és sérültek családjai felé” – mondta az olasz kormányfő, hozzátéve, hogy a katasztrófa oka egyértelműen a romló környezeti és éghajlati helyzet lehet. A több mint 3300 méter magas hegycsúcson mintegy plusz tíz fokot mértek vasárnap, ami rendkívül melegnek számít.

Legalább hatan vesztették életüket vasárnap az észak-olaszországi Dolomitok legmagasabb hegycsoportjának, a Marmoladának lejtőin egy jégcsuszamlás következtében.
A helyi mentők szerint tucatnyi embert temetett be a hó, de további eltűntek után is kutatnak. Eddig nyolc embert sikerült élve kimenteni. A jégtábla Punta Rocca közelébe tört le a Marmolada csúcsához vezető útvonal mentén.
A mentőegységek emberek tucatjait evakuálták a térségből a völgybe. Egy súlyos sérültet mentőhelikopteren Treviso városának kórházába vittek, két másik sérültet Belluno klinikájára szállítottak. További öt sérültet is Trevisóba vittek.
A hatóságok lavinaveszélyre figyelmeztetnek a térségben, az alpesi mentőállomásokat Trento térségében készültségbe helyezték.
Öt mentőhelikoptert és mentőegységek tucatjait küldték a régióba. Nagy erőkkel és különleges felszerelés bevetésével folyik az eltűntek keresése.
Szombaton csúcshőmérsékletet, tíz Celsius-fokot mértek a Marmolada csúcsán.
