Üzemanyagot szállító teherhajóra támadtak kalózok Szomália partjainál. A tengeri bűnőzök géppuskákat vetettek be és rakétahajtású gránátokat lőttek a hajóra, majd megszállták azt.
A BBC online felületén elérhető beszámoló szerint a szomáliai Eyl városától körülbelül 560 tengeri mérföldre délkeletre kalózok ütöttek rajta egy üzemanyagot szállító teherhajón. A bűnelkövetők azt követően szállták meg a hajót, hogy géppuskákkal sorozatokat adtak le és rakétahajtású gránátokat lőttek ki.
A Hellas Aphrodite nevű hajó az indiai Sikából a dél-afrikai Durbanbe tartott éppen. A tudósítás szerint a görög Latsco Marine Management hajózási társaság megerősítette az üzemanyagot szállító hajó elleni támadást és azt közölték, hogy a hajó mind a 24 fős legénysége „biztonságban van és továbbra is szoros kapcsolatban állnak velük”.
A Reuters hírügynökség a Diaplous tengerészeti biztonsági cég tisztviselőjére hivatkozva tudatta, hogy a legénység a hajónak egy megerősített biztonsági fokozatú szobájában keresett menedéket, hozzáfűzve, hogy a biztonsági cég a térségben tevékenykedő európai uniós haditengerészeti erők segítséget kérte. Egy másik hajó kapitánya arról számolt be, hogy a kalózok kisebb méretű hajójáról lőtték a tankert.
Az Ambrey nevű magánbiztonsági cég szerint a támadók valószínűleg szomáliai kalózok voltak, akik az elmúlt időszakban aktívak voltak a régióban.
A BBC közölte, hogy a hajózási társaság aktiválta vészhelyzeti reagáló csapatát, és együttműködik az illetékes hatóságokkal a legénység folyamatos biztonságának és jólétének biztosítása érdekében.

Katonai egyenruhát viselő „illetéktelen személyek” foglaltak el egy olajszállító tartályhajót az Ománi-öbölben csütörtök reggel – tudatta csütörtökön a brit katonaság által működtetett tengeri kereskedelmi hivatal (UKMTO).
A hivatal jelentése alapján az incidens csütörtök kora reggel történt az Omán és Irán közötti vizeken, a Perzsa-öböl szűk torkolatánál található, a világ ellátásához nélkülözhetetlen Hormuzi-szorosban, amelyen keresztül az olajkereskedelem ötödét bonyolítják le.
Az UKMTO-t az olajszállító biztonsági vezetője arról tájékoztatta, hogy a hajó kapitányával együtt „ismeretlen személyek hangját hallotta a telefonon”. A hivatal ezt követően nem tudta elérni a hajót.
„Hat fegyveres szállt fel a Saint Nikolas tartályhajóra, letakarták az összes térfigyelő kamerát” – közölte a hajózási biztonsággal foglalkozó Ambrey brit magáncég. A Saint Nikolas az incidensről eddig nem nyilatkozó Empire Navigation görög hajózási társaság hajója, amely szeptemberben 2,4 millió dolláros bírságot fizetett ki tízmillió hordónyi szankcionált iráni olaj szállítása miatt.
Az Egyesült Államok haditengerészetének Közel-Keleten aktív 5. flottája sem reagált azonnal az incidensre.

Amint arról korábban beszámoltunk kalózok támadtak meg és kerítettek hatalmukba egy kereskedelmi hajót Szomália partjainál. Az indiai haditengerészet viszont sikeresen véget vetett a teherhajó-eltérítésnek.
Az ázsiai ország haditengerészetének pénteki közlése szerint egyik hadihajójuk, a Chennai nevű romboló sietett a libériai zászló alatt hajózó Lila Norfolk segítségére, s a haditengerészeti kommandós egységek (Marcos) ugyan nem találtak kalózokat a fedélzeten, de a 21 fős legénységet – köztük 15 indiai állampolgárt – evakuálták.
A tájékoztatás szerint az indiai hadihajó jelenleg segítséget nyújt a Lila Norfolknak, hogy az helyre tudja állítani az áramellátást, s folytathassa útját rendeltetési helye felé.
A kalózok azon próbálkozását, hogy eltérítsék a hajót, valószínűleg keresztülhúzta az indiai haditengerészet erőteljes figyelmeztetése, miszerint egy haditengerészeti járőrrepülő és egy indiai hadihajó közeledik – áll a közlésben.
A brit tengeri kereskedelmi hivatal (UKMTO) és az Ambrey nevű, hajózási biztonsággal foglalkozó brit magáncég csütörtökön számolt be a kalóztámadásról mintegy 850 kilométerre keletre a szomáliai Ejl városától. A tájékoztatás szerint mintegy hat fegyveres szállt fel a teherhajóra, míg a legénység a hajó gyomrában sáncolta el magát.
A teherhajó a bahreini Halífa bin Szalmán kikötőjébe tartott, egyelőre nem ismeretes, hogy mit szállít.
Abhidzsit Szing, az újdelhi székhelyű Observer Research Foundation agytröszt hajózási ügyekkel foglalkozó részlegének vezetője azzal magyarázta a kalóztámadások számának hirtelen megugrását az utóbbi időben, hogy a tengeri rablók kihasználják a jelenlegi helyzetet, amelyben a kalóztevékenység megfékezését szolgáló haditengerészeti erők figyelme az Ádeni-öbölről elterelődött a Vörös-tenger térségére.
A 2008-ban indított uniós, Atalanta fedőnevű, kalózellenes műveletnek köszönhetően jelentősen sikerült visszaszorítani a tengeri rablók tevékenységét. Legutóbb december 14-én jelentettek kalóztámadást a térségből.

A nyomozók szerint a négy férfi kifejezetten Európába tartó bárkákat szemelt ki, majd ezeket más hajók segítségével a nemzetközi vizeken tartóztatta fel Tunézia partjai előtt, kifosztva az utasokat, elvéve mobiltelefonjaikat, pénzüket és egyéb értékeiket. A szemtanúk beszámolói szerint a késekkel felfegyverkezett bűnözők a bárkák motorjait is elvitték, sorsukra hagyva a tengeren hánykódó migránsokat.
Salvatore Vella, a szicíliai Agrigento főügyésze szerint a hatóságok arra figyeltek fel, hogy egyre több bárkának tűnt el a motorja. „A bizonyítékok egybevágtak azzal, amit a menedékkérők tanúvallomásukban mondtak nekünk, hogy tunéziaiak támadtak rájuk és vették el tőlük a hajtóműveket” – mondta.
„A lehető legtöbb információt szedtük össze, a tengeren avatkoztunk be, őrizetbe véve a férfiakat, akik egy halászhajóval tevékenykedtek” – tette hozzá.
Az olasz rendőrség szerint a halászhajón legalább három bárka motorját, több száz euró készpénzt és több tucat mobiltelefont találtak meg. Az olasz hatóságok a Montego Bayben született tengerjogi egyezmény alapján léphettek fel a nemzetközi vizeken működő kalózokkal szemben.
A négy férfit július 24-én vették őrizetbe, akiket azóta egy szicíliai börtönben tartanak fogva. A nyomozók most azt próbálják felderíteni, hogy egyedül cselekedtek-e, vagy embercsempészek megbízásából.
„Miért lopták el a hajtóműveket? Lehetséges, hogy megpróbálták továbbadni őket. De nem zárhatjuk ki, hogy ezek a férfiak a tunéziai Szfaksz városának térségében működő embercsempészeknek dolgoztak, ahonnan a legtöbb menedékkérő indul Európába” – ismertette Vella.
„Végtére a bárkák legértékesebb alkatrészei a motorok” – mondta az ügyész, hozzáfűzve, hogy teljességgel elképzelhető, hogy a kalózok azért lopták el a motorokat, hogy más migránsbárkákon újrahasznosíthassák őket.

Kalózok támadták meg a dán tulajdonban lévő Monjasa tengerhajózási vállalat egyik olaj- és vegyianyag-szállító tartályhajóját, amellyel minden kommunikáció megszűnt – közölte a vállalat szóvivője kedden.
A hajó 16 fős legénysége időben fedezékbe tudott vonulni a hajón, azonban a szombati támadás óta nem sikerült kapcsolatot létesíteni velük.
A tankerhajó libériai zászló alatt tétlenül állt a nyílt tengeren, amikor a kalózok a Guineai-öböl térségében, a kongói Pointe-Noire kikötővárostól 260 kilométerre rájuk támadtak.
A hajót a dániai Monjasa leányvállalata, a dubaji központtal működő Montec Ship Management nevű cég üzemelteti, amely elsőként értesítette a Guineai-öböl biztonságáért felelős brit-francia tengeri együttműködési központot. Dániának világszerte jelentős érdekeltsége van a tengerhajózásban: a biztonságos hajózás előmozdítására 2021-ben egy fregattot is kirendelt a Guineai-öbölbe, amelyet az ukrajnai háború 2022. februári kirobbanása után hazahívott.
A Guineai-öböl az elmúlt években a tengeri kalózkodás egyik központjává vált, az ENSZ Biztonsági Tanácsának közlése szerint azonban 2021 óta kevesebb kalóztámadást regisztráltak.

Kalóztevékenységgel vádolta meg a görög hajózási miniszter kedden Törökországot, azt vetve Ankara szemére, hogy a török parti őrség szándékosan görög felségvizekre igyekezett terelni egy migránsokkal teli hajót.
Törökország ismét kalóz módjára viselkedett az Égei-tengeren – jelentette ki Jannis Plakiotakisz, és sürgette az Európai Uniót, gyakoroljon nagyobb nyomást Ankarára annak érdekében, hogy a török kormány teljesítse a kötelezettségeit.
Hozzátette azt is, hogy hazája meg fogja védeni tengeri határait.
A görög parti őrség kedd reggel tette közzé a videófelvételt, amelyen az látszik, hogy egy török járőrhajó és egy kisebb, emberek tucatjaival telezsúfolt gumicsónak látható. A görög fél közleménye szerint a gumicsónakot török hajók kísérték a török partoktól mintegy 700 kilométernyire található Leszbosz szigetéhez.
A görög parti őrség nem engedte kikötni a csónakot, amelynek utasait végül az őt kísérő török hajók vették a fedélzetükre.
Az Európába igyekvő menedékkérők jelentős része a török partokról próbál átkelni a görög égei-tengeri szigetekre és ezzel az Európai Unió területére.
A 2016-os EU-török migrációs megállapodás értelmében a török hatóságok igyekeznek megakadályozni a menedékkérők távozását az EU felé, cserébe Törökország 6 milliárd euró (2010 milliárd forint) támogatást kap az uniótól a területén tartózkodó menekültek ellátására.
Athén mindazonáltal többször vádolta Ankarát azzal, hogy bátorítja és megkönnyíti a migránsok Európába jutását. Törökország ezzel szemben azt veti Görögország szemére, hogy jogtalanul küldi vissza török területre a már Görögországba jutott embereket.
A két ország kapcsolatát tovább terheli, hogy Athén szerint Ankara Görögország kizárólagos gazdasági övezetében folytat illegálisan kutatást gázlelőhelyek után a Földközi-tengeren.

Két matróz életét veszítette egy csütörtöki támadásban, amelynek során elviekben kalózok támadtak egy izraeli tulajdonban lévő tankerre Omán partjainál.
A brit és román matrózok egy olyan támadásban veszítették életüket, amelyet a cég egy “gyaníthatóan kalóztámadásnak” nevezett. A Mercer Street nevet viselő olajszállító hajót egy felfegyverzett drón támadhatta meg bennfentesek szerint és ezt a drónt állítólagosan Irán üzemeltette. A térségben lévő amerikai hadihajókat riadóztatták is az eset után.
Végül a Mercer Street hajóját két amerikai hadihajó kísérte a kikötőbe, ahol alaposan át is vizsgálták. A tanker személyzete szerint már a nap korábbi szakaszában is volt egy drón, ami a hajóba akart csapódni, de az elvétette és a tengerbe zuhant. A második támadás során viszont a drónnak sikerült a fedélzetbe csapódnia és ott felrobbannia. Az amerikai állítások szerint ez most egy új iráni módszer a hajók megtámadására. A történet pikantériáját az adja, hogy Izrael tulajdonában van a tanker.
Izrael és Irán konfliktusa pedig egyre mélyül. A Mercer Street éppen Tanzániából tartott az Egyesült Arab Emirátusok felé az Indiai-óceán északi részén. Elvileg libériai zászló alatt hajózott, míg maga a hajó japán tulajdonban áll és egy londoni székhelyű cég kezeli, amelynek izraeli a tulajdonosa. Azt nem tudni, hogy pontosan hova vitték most a Mercer hajóját a támadás után, de azt megerősítették a helyi hatóságok, hogy a támadás még nemzetközi vizeken, tehát nem ománi területen történt.
Jelenleg az érintett országok nyomozást folytatnak az ügyben, az Egyesült Királyság és Románia is szakértőket küldött a helyszínre, de az amerikai hatóságok is vizsgálódnak. Így jelenleg még minden fentebb leírt információ csak állítólagos, ugyanis a támadáson kívül más tényeket nem erősítettek meg a kormányzati szóvivők. Egyébiránt nem az első ilyen jellegű támadás volt ez tankerek ellen az Indiai-óceán ezen részén és minden egyes alkalommal Iránt illetve a jemeni lázadókat vádolták meg a támadással az érintettek.
