A német hatóságok letartóztattak egy 17 éves fiút, Emin B.-t, aki gyanú szerint egy nagy terrortámadást tervezett a karácsonyi időszak előtt, a németországi Északi-Földvidéken található Elmshorn városában.

A Német Szövetségi Bűnügyi Hivatal (BKA) arról tájékoztatta a sajtót, hogy amerikai hírszerző szolgálatok egy telefonbeszélgetés lehallgatása során felfedezték, hogy Emin B. kapcsolatban áll az Iszlám Állam (ISIS) csoportjával, és aktívan részt vett a csoport által használt online csevegőszobákban.
A fiú több alkalommal is megosztotta hajlandóságát arra, hogy támadásokat hajtson végre, és említette a „hitetlenek” elleni támadásokat is. Emellett több vezetési órát is vett, hogy később teherautót vezethessen.

A Hamász terrorszervezet október 7-én terrortámadást indított Izrael ellen. A zsidó állam ezután indított háborút a Gázai övezetben.
„Ne legyen karácsony, ne legyen ünneplés!” – ezt kiáltozta több száz palesztin New Yorkban. A felvonulók Manhattanban a Rockefeller központnál felállított hatalmas karácsonyfa körül tiltakoztak, ahol ilyenkor hagyományosan turisták és helyiek ezrei gyűlnek össze, hogy együtt ünnepeljék Jézus Krisztus megszületését.
A palesztin tüntetők átvonultak a feldíszített téren és azt kiálltozták, hogy amíg harcok folynak a Közel-Keleten ne ünnepelje senki sem a karácsonyt. Több felvonuló az intifádát, azaz az Izrael elleni felkelést éltette.
Jézus palesztin volt és Betlehemben született, ezért ott a Gáza melletti kiállás jelképeként és a rengeteg áldozat miatt nem ünneplik idén a karácsonyt. Senki sem ünnepelhet amíg a civileket támadják! – mondta egy tüntető.
A demonstrálók egy építményt vittek magukkal ezen romokon ülő Szűz Máriát ábrázolták, ahogy karjában véres lepelbe csomagolt halott gyermeket, Jézus Krisztust tartja.
A palesztinok felvonulása rövid időn belül dulakodásba torkollott.
Az eredetileg békés, háború és erőszak elleni tüntetetés résztvevői rátámadtak a rendőrökre, lökdösték őket. Több tüntető arca nem látszott, mert a palesztin ellenállást jelképező kendővel teljesen letakarták a fejüket.
Miután a helyzet egyre súlyosabbá vált és egyre többen támadtak a rendőrökre, megérkezett az erősítés, voltak akit földre tepertek a rendőrök, csak így tudták megfékezni és megbilincselni.

Muzulmán tüntetést tartottak szombat este az északkeleti Monfalcone városában, a tüntetők egyenlőséget követeltek a vallásgyakorlásban is az olaszok és a bevándorlók között; a polgármester szerint viszont a muzulmán közösség saját szélsőséges életmodelljét akarja elismertetni, semmilyen tiszteletet nem tanúsítva a keresztény karácsony ünnepe iránt.
Az Ansa hírügynökség jelentése szerint legalább nyolcezren vonultak végig Monfalcone belvárosában a muzulmán közösség imahelyeinek korábbi bezárása ellen tüntetve.
A megmozduláson a helyi és Olaszország más részeiből érkezett muzulmánok, valamint az őket támogató szervezetek és politikusok vettek részt.

A polgármester kijelentette, a tüntetés időzítése is bizonyította, hogy a muzulmán közösség saját szélsőséges, iszlám életvitelét akarja keresztülvinni.
Egyik oldalon Jézus születését akarjuk ünnepelni, ami keresztény hagyományunk legjelentősebb pillanata, és civilizációnk alapját képzi. A másik oldalon méltatlan tiltakozás zajlik, amely intoleranciát hirdet társadalmi szokásainkkal és törvényeinkkel szemben − hangoztatta Anna Maria Cisint. A polgármester hangsúlyozta, az úgynevezett iszlám kulturális központok, ahova a muzulmánok imádkozni jártak, nem felelnek meg a biztonsági előírásoknak. Megjegyezte, az iszlám imahelyeken a palesztin terrorizmust éltetik, valamint a nőkkel szembeni elnyomást.
A polgármester elmondta, aki olasz zászlókkal vonul fel, tartsa tiszteletben az olasz törvényeket, kultúrát, hagyományokat, tanuljon meg olaszul, tisztelje a nőket. „Csak ezek után indulhat párbeszéd. December 23-án tüntetni értékeinket sérti, és milyen indoklással? Azért, mert szabad övezetet, felmentést akarnak az olasz törvények alól” − jelentette ki Anna Maria Cisint.

Karácsony után Ausztria a koronavírus elleni küzdelem harmadik országos zárlatának bevezetését tervezi, amely feltehetőleg január 18-ig tartana.
A zárlat várhatóan tovább tart azok számára, akik nem vesznek részt a január 16-17-re tervezett országos koronavírus-teszten. Akiknél negatív eredményt mutat a teszt, nem kell karanténban maradniuk – számolt be több sajtóorgánum.
A szövetségi kormány pénteken 15 órakor folytatott konzultációt a szövetségi államokkal és szakértőkkel a koronavírus elleni küzdelem további intézkedéseiről – közölte a Der Standard.
