A szudáni hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint ismeretlen okból felborult és elsüllyedt egy hajó a Kék-Níluson, amelynek fedélzetén 29 ember tartózkodott. A szerencsétlenség múlt hét pénteken történt Sennar tartomány délkeleti részén. A fedélzeten utazók mindegyike nő volt, közülük 23-an vízbe fulladtak, 5 utas pedig a kapitánnyal együtt életben maradt.
