Legalább 25 ember vesztette életét egy szombat éjszakai tűzvészben egy népszerű goa-i szórakozóhelyen Indiában – közölték a helyi hatóságok. A halálos áldozatok többsége a klub dolgozója volt, de turisták is vannak az elhunytak között. A rendőrség elsődleges információi szerint a tragédiát egy gázpalack robbanása okozta az Észak-Goában, Arporában található klub konyhájában, ahonnan a lángok gyorsan átterjedtek az egész épületre – számoly be az Index.
A goai rendőrség szerint legalább 25 ember meghalt egy éjszakai klubban történt tűzvészben Indiában. A tűz állítólag szombat éjjel körülbelül éjfélkor keletkezett, írja a Sky News.
A rendőrség szerint egy gázpalack robbant fel a szórakozóhely konyhájában, és a tűz innen terjedt szét a létesítményben.
„A tűz főként a földszinti konyharészre koncentrálódott” – mondta Alok Kumar, Goa rendőrfőnöke. A lángokat éjfél körül sikerült megfékezni, a legtöbb holttestet a konyha környékén találták meg.

Pramod Sawant, Goa állam vezetője újságíróknak elmondta: három ember égési sérülésekben, a többiek fulladás következtében haltak meg. Hozzátette: „három-négy” turista is életét vesztette, nemzetiségüket egyelőre nem közölték.
Az Indian Express beszámolója szerint a tűz a Birch by Romeo Lane nevű klubban ütött ki Bagában, amely Goa legnépszerűbb strandjai mellett található. A környék hemzseg a hasonló szórakozóhelyektől, ezek tele szoktak lenni bulizni vágyó turistákkal.
Egy közeli vendéglőben dolgozó szakács a BBC-nek elmondta, hogy ismer néhány embert, aki a Birch klubban dolgozott. „Az egész országból és Nepálból is jönnek emberek Goába dolgozni a különböző klubokba. Nagyon aggódom néhány ismerősömért, akik nem veszik fel a telefont” – mondta.
A mentési munkálatok vasárnap hajnalban is tartottak, a mentőcsapatok átvizsgálták az elszenesedett romokat. A klub bejáratát lezárták, senkit sem engednek be.
A miniszterelnök ígérete szerint a felelősök a legszigorúbb büntetést kapják
Szemtanúk szerint szokványos szombat esti hangulat uralkodott, a turisták jól érezték magukat, amikor hirtelen sikolyokat hallottak. „Kicsit később vált világossá, hogy hatalmas tűz ütött ki. Senki sem tudott mit tenni” – mesélte az egyik szemtanú.
A miniszterelnök hivatalos vizsgálatot rendelt el, és ígéretet tett arra, hogy a felelősöket a legszigorúbban megbüntetik. Narendra Modi indiai miniszterelnök közösségi oldalán „mélyen elszomorítónak” nevezte a tragédiát.

Goa állam éjszakai életéről, homokos strandjairól és üdülőhelyeiről ismert, évente milliók látogatják. Az év első felében 5,5 millió turista érkezett a régióba, közülük 270 ezren külföldről.
India szórakozóhelyein az elmúlt években több halálos tűzvész is történt. Májusban 17-en haltak meg egy háromszintes épület tűzében, áprilisban pedig 15-en vesztették életüket egy kalkuttai szállodatűzben.

Legalább tizenöt ember meghalt az oroszországi Kosztroma város egyik szórakozóhelyén keletkezett tűzben – közölte a régió kormányzója.
A 230 ezer fős Kosztroma Moszkvától mintegy 300 kilométerre északkeletre fekszik, ahol az egyik éjszakai bárban tűz ütött ki – írja a Reuters. A mentőszolgálatokat helyi idő szerint hajnali 2 óra körül hívták a helyszínre, és a tüzet reggel 7:30-ra sikerült eloltani.
A tűz gyorsan terjedt a mintegy 3500 négyzetméteres területen, és az épület teteje beomlott. 250 főt evakuáltak az épületből.
A rendőrség jelenleg is vizsgálja az esetet.
