Három csendőr halálát okozta egy robbantás Olaszországban, amely a Veronától délre fekvő Castel D’Azzanóban történt – jelentette kedden az ANSA olasz hírügynökség. A csendőrök éppen egy hatósági akcióban akartak kilakoltatni három testvért, akik gázpalackokat robbantottak fel.
A hatóságok egy vidéki házat akartak kiüríteni, amelyben három testvér lakott. Az akciót már napok óta tervezték, miután több kísérlet is kudarcot vallott, hogy rávegyék az ingatlan elhagyására a három testvért, akik többször is azzal fenyegetőztek, hogy felrobbantják magukat.
A nyomozók szerint szándékosan előidézett gázrobbanás történt, amikor a házba behatolva kinyitották a bejárati ajtót.
Az ANSA jelentése szerint a robbanás hatására a kétszintes épület összedőlt, és maga alá temette a műveletben résztvevőket.
A tűzoltók, akik már szintén a helyszínen voltak a robbanáskor, azonnal megkezdték a mentést, de a három csendőr életét már nem tudták megmenteni.
Tizenegy másik csendőrt súlyos, de nem életveszélyes sérülésekkel szállítottak kórházba, valamint négy rendőr és hét tűzoltó is megsérült.
A helyszínen 25 mentő- és kutatóegység, valamint keresőkutyás és speciális városi mentőcsapatok is dolgoztak.
A helyszínen őrizetbe vettek egy férfit és egy nőt, a hatvanas éveikben járó testvéreket, akiket azzal gyanúsítanak, hogy közük volt a robbanáshoz, amelyben a testvérpár női tagja is megsebesült.
A harmadik testvért – egy férfit – később a környéken kapták el szökés közben.
A gazdálkodással foglalkozó testvérek pénzügyi és jelzálogproblémákkal küszködtek. Mivel már a korábbi kilakoltatási kísérletek alkalmával is önmaguk felrobbantásával fenyegetőztek, a hatóságok idén Padovából és Mestréből hívtak speciálisan kiképzett szakembereket. A rendőrök közül többen a tetőről próbáltak meg behatolni a házba.
A veronai főügyész, Raffaele Tito szerint a három testvér ellen előre megfontolt gyilkosság miatt indult eljárás, és vizsgálják, hogy tömeggyilkosságnak minősülhet-e az eset – írja a La Repubblica.
