A litván rendőrök Utena városában megállítottak egy Fiat Ducato kisteherautót, amelyben illegális migránsok nagy csoportját találták, számolt be a Delfi.
A rendőrség tájékoztatása szerint a furgont egy 2001-es születésű román állampolgár vezette.
A raktérben végzett ellenőrzés során az ellenőrök öt iráni és 13 afgán állampolgárt találtak.
Az összes őrizetbe vett személyt átadták a határőrségnek, illegális emberszállítás ténye miatt indult nyomozás.
Az előzetes adatok szerint az autó az illegális migránsokkal Lettországból érkezett.
Ha ezt az információt megerősítik, akkor az eljárásnak megfelelően visszaküldik őket Lettországba.
Feltételezhető, hogy a migránsok Litvánián és Lengyelországon keresztül akartak Nyugat-Európa országaiba kerülni.
