Kigyulladt egy Lettországból Svédországba komp Svédország partjainak a közelében, 300 emberrel a fedélzetén. A Stena Scandica nevű komphajó Gotska Sandön sziget közelében a svéd partvidéktől dél-keletre hajózott a tűz kitörésekor, ami egy fedélzeten lévő hűtőkonténerben keletkezett.
A tüzet eloltották, senki sem sérült meg, de ezután nem volt áram a hajón. Attól tartva, hogy a komp zátonyra futhat, elkezdték evakuálni az embereket három helikopterrel és két hajóval.

A Viking Line hajózási vállalat kompja a svéd fővárosból, Stockholmból tartott a finnországi Turkuba. A hajó menetrend szerint megállt Mariehamnban. A baleset idején erős szél fújt a tengeren. A Viking Line vizsgálatot indított az ügyben.
A finn parti őrség a Twitteren fotót is közzétett a zátonyra futott kompról.
Szeptemberben a Viking Line egy másik utasszállító kompja feneklett meg a körülbelül 6500 szigetből álló Aland-szigeteknél, akkor sem sérült meg senki. A sekély víz és a szűk átjárók miatt nehéz nagy hajókkal közlekedni a térségben.

A hivatalos statisztikák szerint Indonéziában eddig 3512-en fertőződtek meg a koronavírussal, közülük 306-an haltak meg.
