Tűz volt vasárnap hajnalban a bulgáriai Szliven egyik kórházának koronaosztályán – írja a Reuters. A tűz egy szobát érintett közvetlenül, és hamar eloltották. A szomszédos szobákból hat beteget más osztályokra szállítottak át.
Az érintett szobában két férfit holtan találtak a tűzoltók. Egy harmadik súlyos égési séróüléseket szenvedett, másik kórházba szállították át, ahol nem sokkal később meghalt.
A tűz kitörésének okait még vizsgálják, de a bolgár egészségügyi minisztérium közleménye szerint a legvalószínűbb ok, hogy az egyik beteg cigarettára gyújtott.
Bulgáriában a legalacsonyabb a lakosság átoltottsági aránya az egész Európai Unióban, ugyanakkor az egyik legmagasabb a járvány miatti halálozási ráta. Jelenleg 8000 covidos beteget ápolnak a bolgár kórházakban, közülük 700-at intenzív osztályokon.
