A Brit Orvosi Szövetség (BMA), amely Anglia-szerte egyesíti a háziorvosokat, túlnyomó többségben támogatta a sztrájkot, hogy jobb munkakörülményeket követeljen – számolt be a Jevropejszka Pravda a Sky News-ra hivatkozva.
A BMA szavazásán több mint 8500 angol orvos támogatta a sztrájkot. Kijelentették, akciójuk hónapokig is eltarthat, és ezzel felfüggeszthetik a Nemzeti Egészségügyi Szolgálat (NHS) működését.
Az orvosok többek között a napi betegek számának korlátozását, a beutalók és a vények felírása rendszerének reformját, a betegek adatainak beleegyezése nélküli megosztásának tilalmát, valamint lehetővé tenni a kórházak számára, hogy ők határozzák meg, a Nemzeti Egészségügyi Szolgálat mely programjában vegyenek részt.
A Brit Orvosi Szövetség kifejtette, hogy a háziorvosokkal kötött új szerződés, amely 2024–2025-ben 1,9%-kal növeli a finanszírozást, azt jelenti, hogy sok kórház küzd majd azért, hogy pénzügyileg életképes maradjon.

Legalább 101 kórházat teljesen megsemmisítettek és további 570 egészségügyi intézményt rongáltak meg orosz tüzérségi és rakétatámadások a február 24-én kitört háború során Ukrajnában – számolt be az ukrán egészségügyi bizottság elnöke, Mihajlo Raduckij.
A parlamenti képviselő szerint ezek a támadások nem véletlenszerűek voltak, hanem szerinte Oroszország célzottan támadta ezeket a harcok alatt.
Abban már nem reménykednek az oroszok, hogy elfoglalják országunkat, ezért úgy döntöttek, minél több kárt akarnak okozni és minden egészségügyi intézményt használhatatlanná akarnak tenni. Az ukrán népet kórházak, szülőotthonok és egészségügyi ellátás nélkül hagyni, az felér egy népirtással – fogalmazott kemény szavakkal a politikus.
A legtragikusabb eset, amikor kórházat ért csapás, a szinte földi rombolt Mariupolban volt, ahol egy gyermekkórházat ért találat. Hárman haltak meg, köztük egy gyermek.

Elmondása szerint a rubizsnei kórház a megszállt területen maradt, az orosz katonák folyamatosan propagandaanyagokat forgatnak, miszerint az intézményt az ukrán katonák támadták meg. A kórház főorvosa annak ellenére, hogy tudja az igazat, az ellenség kezére játszik.

Indiana állam egyik kórházára szabadítottak zsarolóvírust hackerek, ami nemcsak a 315 ágyas indianapolisi egységet bénította meg, de többek között a közegészségügyi központokat is.
A támadás a Daily Beast beszámolója szerint augusztus 4-én, ottani idő szerint hajnali 3 óra után vette kezdetét. A zsarolóvírus miatt az Eskenazi Health egészségügyi szolgáltató által fenntartott kórház kénytelen volt másik kórház felé irányítani a mentőautókat, mert ott nem tudták volna ellátni a betegeket.
A szolgáltató annak érdekében, hogy minél kisebb legyen a kár, és minél kisebb területre terjedjen át a zsarolóvírus, korlátozta egyes szolgáltatásait, másokat pedig teljesen le is állított.
A lap szerint nem az Eskenazi az egyetlen, amelyet megtámadtak a hackerek. A Dél-Dakotában működő Sanford Health, amely az Egyesült Államok 26 államában, 10 országban összesen 46 kórházat működtet, szintén támadás áldozata lett. Hogy ellene is zsarolóvírust vetettek-e be, azt nem tudni.
A szakemberek szerint a betegek és a dolgozók adatai egyik esetben sem szivárogtak ki.
Ohad Zaidenberg, az önkéntes kiberbiztonsági kutatókat összefogó CTI League vezetője szerint bár a támadásokat sikerült megállítani, ettől függetlenül a betegek tovább érezhetik annak hatását. A szakember kiemelte, már önmagában az adatszivárgás is komoly fejfájást okozhat, a koronavírus-járvány idején az egészségügyi rendszert megtámadni az eddigi legkegyetlenebb lépés a hackerektől. Hogy miért, azt jól példázza az a tavalyi németországi eset, amikor egy beteg meghalt, amikor a hackerek megtámadták az egyik düsseldorfi kórházat.
Azt egyelőre nem tudni, kik felelősek a támadásokért, a lap szerint azonban az FBI három hónappal ezelőtt figyelmeztette a kórházakat és az egészségügyi szolgáltatókat, hogy az orosz nyelven beszélő csoport, a Conti épp ezeket az intézményeket célozza meg. 2020-ban 16 ellen intéztek támadást.
