 Az SZBU szerint a politikai vezetéssel szoros kapcsolatokat ápoló pátriárkátus pénzügyi és ipari csoportoktól kap támogatásokat a tevékenységre. Hivatalosan az adományokat az ortodox egyház templomépítésére adják, viszont ehelyett gyakorta zsoldosseregek létrehozására használják fel a keretet. Ennek egyik szembetűnő példája az északnyugat-oroszországi Kronstadtban található haditengerészeti katedrálisban működő Szent András Kereszt szervezet.
 A Szent András Keresztet még 2017-ben hozták létre, nem véletlenül nevezik az első egyház alá tartozó zsoldosseregnek.
 Megalapításakor a legfontosabb feladata az újoncok kiképzése volt más hasonló cégeknél.
 A székesegyház apátja, Alekszej az orosz médiának adott nyilatkozatában tagadta, hogy a Szent András-kereszt zsoldos társaság lenne, mondván, hogy csak készségeket tanítanak a fiataloknak és felnőtteknek a jövőbeli katonai szolgálatra. Az SZBU szerint a toborzás most is zajlik, elsősorban kiképzésre keresnek tagokat.

 A jelentés szerint Vlagyimir Putyin orosz diktátor sajtószolgálata közölte, hogy az orosz hadsereg és a különleges szolgálatok lelőttek két drónt, amelyek állítólag a Kremlt akarták támadni. Ugyanakkor a „támadásnak” nem volt áldozata, Putyin sem sérült meg. Munkarendje változatlan.
 A hírportál megjegyezte, hogy a Kreml ezeket a cselekményeket tervezett terrorista akciónak és az elnök elleni merényletkísérletnek tekintette a győzelem napja és a május 9-i felvonulás „előestéjén”. Azt is közölték, hogy az Orosz Föderáció „fenntartja a jogot arra, hogy megtorló intézkedéseket hozzon, ahol és amikor szükségesnek tartja”.
 Időközben Szergej Szobjanyin moszkvai polgármester elmondta, hogy a hatóságok úgy döntöttek, hogy betiltják a drónokat a városban, kivéve azokat, amelyeket a hatóságok döntése szerint használnak. A szavai szerint a döntés „a drónok jogosulatlan használatának megakadályozása érdekében született, ami megnehezítheti a rendvédelmi szervek munkáját”.
