Háztartások tízezrei maradtak áram nélkül keddre virradóra Japán nyugati részén, miután lecsapott a szigetországra a Lan nevű tájfun. Emellett több mint 800 járatot töröltek, a hatóságok pedig áradásokra és földcsuszamlásokra figyelmeztettek – jelentette az NHK japán közszolgálati televízió.
A tájfun Vakajama prefektúránál, mintegy 400 kilométerre Tokiótól délnyugatra csapott le. Helyszíni beszámolók szerint mintegy 650-en rekedtek az Oszakai-öbölnél lévő Kanszaj nemzetközi repülőtéren, a járattörlések pedig több mint 50 ezer utast érintenek.
A Lan, óránkénti 108 kilométeres sebességgel várhatóan északnyugat felé veszi az irányt, helyi idő szerint szerda reggelre éri el a Japán-tengert és észak felé indul – jelentette be a japán meteorológiai intézet.
Augusztus elején a Khanun tájfun is lecsapott Japánra, a viharok és esők akkor halálos áldozatokat követeltek.
