Október 6-án, hétfőn a kaliforniai Sacramento Highway 50-es autópályáján lezuhant egy mentőhelikopter. Az eset során három ember súlyos sérüléseket szenvedett. A hírt a Sacramento Bee közölte.
Helyi források szerint a légikatasztrófa helyi idő szerint 19:10 körül történt az autópálya keleti sávjában, a Howe Avenue közelében.
A fedélzeten a pilóta, egy ápoló és egy mentőtechnikus tartózkodott, amely a Reach Air Medical Services tulajdonában állt. A tűzoltóság képviselői szerint mindhárman kritikus állapotban vannak, és a helyi kórházakba szállították őket.
Előzetes információk szerint a helikopter az UC Davis egészségügyi központ tetejéről emelkedett a levegőbe csupán néhány perccel a baleset előtt. A FlightRadar24 adatai szerint a Reach 5 jelzésű gépet 2021 óta használták. A Global Medical Response (a Reach Air anyavállalata) megerősítette a balesetet, és közölte, hogy a helikopteren nem tartózkodott beteg.
A közösségi médiában megosztott videón látható, hogy a helikopter az autópálya felett lebeg, majd hirtelen leesik, oldalára fordul és elveszíti a rotorlapátokat.

Szombaton légi baleset történt a Hua Hin repülőtér közelében, amikor egy rendőrségi repülőgép tesztrepülés közben, ejtőernyős kiképzésre való felkészülés során lezuhant. Az incidens több halálos áldozatot követelt – számolt be a Liner.hu.
A gép a parttól mintegy 100 méterre zuhant a tengerbe, majd kettétört. A Thai Királyi Rendőrség által kiadott információk szerint hat rendőr volt a fedélzeten a baleset idején, akik mind életüket vesztették.
A helyszínen öt holttestet találtak, míg a hatodik, kritikus állapotban volt rendőrt ugyan kórházba tudták szállítani, azóta ő is életét vesztette. Egyelőre nem sikerült megállapítani, mi okozhatta a tragédiát, az ezzel kapcsolatos nyomozás már zajlik a háttérben. Az országos rendőrfőnök megerősítette, az áldozatok családtagjait támogatni fogják, és intézkednek a temetésekről.
