Ma beszámoltunk arról, miszerint Görögország területén lezuhant egy védelmi rakományt szállító ukrán gép.
Az ukrán Meridian légitársaság megerősítette, miszerint az ő tulajdonukban lévő AN-12-es repülőgép zuhant le Görögországban. A fedélzeten lévő nyolctagú személyzet életét vesztette, mindannyian ukrán állampolgárok voltak – közölte Denisz Bohdanovics, a légitársaság vezérigazgatója.
Az eset a július 17-re virradó éjszakán történt Kavála közelében. A katonai tehereszállító gép a MEM3032-es járatot teljesítette Szerbiából Jordániába.
A katasztrófa előtt a személyzet jelentette, hogy meghibásodott az egyik motor, s engedélyt kapott a kényszerleszállásra Thesszalonikiben és Kaválában is. A pilóta az utóbbi lehetőséget választotta, azonban nem érkezett elrepülni a reptérig.

Nebojša Stefanović szerb védelmi miniszter vasárnap megerősítette, hogy a Görögországban lezuhant ukrán An–12-es gép szerb gyártmányú védelmi rakományt szállított.
A hírt a Jevropejszka pravda közölte a miniszter nyilatkozatára hivatkozva.
„A gép körülbelül 20:40-kor szállt fel Nišvárosából, és mintegy 11,5 tonna általunk gyártott védelmi ipari terméket szállította bangladesi rendelőhöz. A megrendelő bangladesi Védelmi Minisztérium” – jelentette ki.
A járatnak Ammánban, Rijádban és Ahmadábádban kellett volna technikai leszállást végrehajtania, a végső cél pedig Dakka, Banglades fővárosa volt.
„Az áru tulajdonosa a szerbiai Valir magáncég volt. Ez a járat minden megfelelő engedéllyel rendelkezett, a nemzetközi előírásoknak megfelelően” – szögezte le Stefanović.
A szerb védelmi minisztérium vezetője azt is megerősítette, hogy az An–12-es legénységének minden tagja életét vesztette, a gép ukrán cég tulajdonában volt.
