Bezárt mind a 270 metróállomás. Egy megtakarítási csomag terve ellen tiltakoznak ezúttal a tömegközlekedési vállalatnál, de rendkívül sok mostanában a sztrájk Nagy-Britanniában.
Sztrájk miatt teljesen leállt szerdán a londoni metróközlekedés. A londoni tömegközlekedési vállalat (Transport for London, TfL) tájékoztatása szerint a metróvezetők gyakorlatilag teljes körű munkabeszüntetése miatt a 402 kilométeres londoni metróhálózat mind a tizenegy fővonalán felfüggesztették a forgalmat, és a 270 állomás mindegyike bezárt.
A két nagy közlekedési szakszervezet, az RMT és az Aslef a brit kormány által a TfL költségvetésében követelt több százmillió fontos megtakarítás ellen tiltakozik, mivel az érdekképviseletek szerint ez tömeges elbocsátásokhoz vezet és hátrányosan érinti a munkavállalók nyugdíjrendszerét is.
A sztrájk a napi átlagos utasszám alapján több mint négymillió londonit, illetve Londonban dolgozó ingázót érint. Csak a londoni City pénzügyi központjába naponta 350 ezren utaznak tömegközlekedési eszközökkel, óriási többségük metróval.
Sztrájkoltak szerdán Angliában a tanárok, a közigazgatási tisztviselők és a rezidens orvosok is, inflációkövető béremelést követelve.
Nagy-Britannia évtizedek óta példátlan sztrájkhullámot él át ezekben a hetekben, mindenekelőtt a megélhetési költségek negyven éve nem tapasztalt ütemű emelkedése miatt.
A brit statisztikai hivatal (ONS) adatai szerint októberben 11,1 százalékos, novemberben 10,7, decemberben 10,5 százalékos, januárban 10,1 százalékos volt a tizenkét havi infláció Nagy-Britanniában.
Az elmúlt hetekben is sztrájkoltak a vasutasok, a tanárok, a kórházi ápolók, a mentősök, a buszsofőrök és a határrendészeti dolgozók, és a szakszervezetek további hasonló akciókat hirdettek meg a bérkövetelések teljesítésének elmaradása esetére. This evening Ceres Engine 15, Ceres Battalion Chief 3, and Modesto Truck 1 were dispatched to a vehicle accident with pin-in at the Shell station on 4th Street. A londoni metróban történt incidens során egy egészségügyi munkavállaló olyannyira megsérült, hogy fémlemezt kellett az arcába helyezni, a rendőrség még mindig keresi a támadót.
A londoni metrón utazott egy egészségügyi dolgozó, amikor észrevette, hogy utastársa nem visel maszkot.
A két férfi között szóváltás alakult ki, melynek során a maszkot nem viselő férfi 3-4 alkalommal megütötte az egészségügyi dolgozót a fején és kilökte őt a járműből a peronra, ahol folytatta a bántalmazását.
Az áldozat állkapcsa megsérült, szemgödre három helyen eltörött, a támadás következtében pedig olyan súlyos sebesüléseket szenvedett, hogy arcába tartós fémlemezeket kellett behelyezni.
Az incidensre 2020. október 3-án került sor, az eset azért került ismét előtérbe, mert a rendőrség most a brit nyilvánosság segítségét kéri egy férfi azonosításához, akivel az eseményekkel kapcsolatban nagyon szeretnének beszélni – írja a Metro.
Ahogyan szerte a világban, Londonban is kötelező a maszkviselés a tömegközlekedési eszközökön, aki pedig nem tesz eleget a szabályoknak, pénzbírságra vagy az utazásból való kizárásra számíthat.
