Férje, Mossimo Giannulli divattervező is bűnösnek vallotta magát, őt öthónapos börtönbüntetésre ítélték. A férfi november derekén vonult a börtönbe.



Lori Loughlin szabadulása után – férjéhez hasonlóan – két évig felügyelet alatt marad. Őt 150 ezer, férjét 250 ezer dolláros büntetés megfizetésére, emellett mindkettőjüket 100, illetve 250 órás közmunkára kötelezték.



A vesztegetési botránynak sokkal több részvevője van, közülük azonban Lori Loughlin és Mossimo Giannulli a legismertebbek.

A beiratkozási csalást Rick Singer, az egyetem edzője tervelte ki, aki – nem kevés pénzért – olyanoknak is adott ki sportigazolást, aki soha nem űztek sportot. Az igazolás juttatta be az egyetemre a fiatalokat.



A vesztegetéssel bejutott diákoknak még vizsgázniuk sem kellett



Megannyi amerikai diák háborodott fel miután kiderült, hogy néhány társuk vesztegetés árán jutott be elit egyetemekre, ahol pénz ellenében még vizsgázniuk sem kellett.



Több mint egy évig tartó nyomozás után derült ki, hogy egy Singer által üzemeltetett hálózatnál pár tízezer dolláros belépő áron tehetős családok felvételiket, vizsgákat vásárolhattak. Singer a becslések szerint 25 millió dollárt zsebelt be.
