Irán több mint egy tucat ballisztikus rakétát lőtt ki szerda hajnalban az amerikai erők által használt két iraki támaszpontra – az Ain al-Aszad bázis mellett támadást intéztek az iraki Kurdisztánban lévő erbíli támaszpontra is –, hogy megtorolja azt, hogy az amerikai Bagdadban meggyilkolták Kászim Szulejmáni tábornokot, a Forradalmi Gárdához tartozó al-Kudsz különleges egység parancsnokát.
Az Irak nyugati, Anbár tartományában található légibázisra mért rakétatámadást, amelyet az amerikai dróncsapásban Bagdadban meggyilkolt iráni tábornok, Kászim Szulejmáni halálának megtorlásául szántak, a Forradalmi Gárda „minden tekintetben teljes sikernek” minősítette.
Az iraki hadsereg egy tisztje meghalt, további öt katonája pedig megsebesült az Ain al-Aszad légitámaszpontot ért szerdai rakétacsapásban – közölte a Sky News – Arabíja tévécsatorna. Amerikai károkról egyelőre nincs információ.
Az állami IRNA hírügynökség útján
kiadott nyilatkozatában a Forradalmi Gárda figyelmeztette az Egyesült Államokat
és minden régióbeli szövetségesét, hogy ne próbálják az iráni támadást
megtorolni. Egyúttal felszólította Washingtont, hogy vonja ki minden katonáját
Irakból.
A magyar Honvédelmi Minisztérium
közleménye szerint a támadások következtében magyar katona nem sérült meg, a
honvédek biztonsága érdekében a Magyar Honvédség megtette a szükséges intézkedéseket.

és Külügyminisztere mai budapesti sajtótájékoztatóján azt mondta: minden
Irakban szolgáló magyar katona jól van. A Honvédelmi Minisztérium és a vezérkar
folyamatosan figyelemmel kíséri a kialakult súlyos helyzetet, és kész haladéktalanul
végrehajtani bármilyen olyan műveletet, amelyet az Iszlám Állam elleni globális
koalíció vezetői szükségesnek tartanak.
A magyar külügyminiszter hangsúlyozta,
Magyarország közel-keleti érdeke, hogy el lehessen kerülni a jelenlegi helyzet
eszkalálódását, még súlyosabb konfliktussá alakulását.
Kiemelte, az iraki Erbílben található
magyar főkonzulátus négy munkatársa szintén jól van, és az ő biztonsági helyzetüket
is folyamatosan elemzik.

Brüsszelben részt vesz az európai uniós külügyminiszterek rendkívüli ülésén,
ahol arra kívánja felhívni a figyelmet, hogy az Európai Uniónak is hozzá kell járulnia
a helyzet eszkalálódásának megakadályozásához. A Közel-Kelet és az Európai Unió
biztonsága ugyanis szorosan összefügg – tette hozzá.
A miniszter kitért arra is,
Magyarország folyamatosan képviselteti magát a NATO brüsszeli központjában,
ahol nagyköveti szinten tartanak egyeztetéseket, tájékoztatókat a kialakult
helyzetről.
Szijjártó Péter aggodalomra okot
adó fejleményként említette, hogy minden eddiginél távolabb került az iráni
atomalkuként ismert nemzetközi nukleáris megállapodás.
